QUOTE(gnne84 @ Dec 18 2010, 02:03 PM) ya i also think like u, put it till fill the processor. refer to the themal paste instruction.but pic above only cover mostly center area...all the corner area are empty... if u buy those performance thermal paste they got teach 1....but every different brand thermal paste hav it own ways of applying it some request u manually spread, some will tell u let the heatsink spread by itself |

For my opinion , if you using HDT heatsink , better fill up the area of processor . If you using those heatsink with flatted base like venomous x or megahalems etc , just put thermal paste on the centre of the processor and the thermal paste will fill up the gaps between the base and processor when you installing the heatsink

QUOTE(gnne84 @ Dec 18 2010, 02:23 PM) thanks. ya HDT heatsink is those heatpipe directly touched the processor . I dont think you need to fill up 100% manually since good heatsink like yours , megahalems should be has a very flat base so it means most of the heatsink base touched with the processor . The thermal paste is used just to fill up gaps left between heatsink and processor .Added on December 18, 2010, 2:27 pm HDT refer to those heatsink with not flat base( 1 piece metal) right? the method put on centre and let it fill up automatic wont fill full whole processor surface, that is what i curious about... 1)fill 100% surface manually better or 2)put center but not 100% fill up surface better? |

two lines between the heat pipes on HDT... one grain of rice for normal coolers... I put my H212+ with a line between each heatpipe, got four so I put 2 line n 1 dot in between the 2 centre heatipipes
