Wouldnt adding a DPI device add the traffic overhead/latency in the network. I seriously think they should STOP discriminate p2p protocol. As downloading just 10-20GB of data from p2p isnt consider as Heavy user and shouldnt be punish. I am one of these user that DL just low amount of BT every month. there are even months that I use only 8 GB bandwidth as a VIP5 user.

DPI is a waste of money it can be easily bypass. They should have just stick to one type of Traffic management = volume cap base. Even our telephone/mobile bill are cheaper during the midnight start having a live different pricing per GB during peak and off peak hour.
What TM should do is to offer a minimum base charges RM30-RM50 for streamyx/unifi package with a standard speed @ 4mbps/20mbps respectively for all user, then start charging them RM per GB as they use.

1% of the selfish users (those who using BolehVPN or some other VPN service) are utilizing 20% of the available international bandwidth.

TM are blind-folded by the VPN users because they can’t actually find out what the users are doing with their international bandwidth. This does not only allows them to ‘fully’ utilize all the resources available, it also caused tremendous traffic congestion for the rest of the 99%.
There will be information about the bandwidth usage on the bill by Q2 2011.

Once Fair Usage Policy (FUP) has made into the final decision stage, all the customers that have signed a 1 or 2 year contract will be informed before the launching. 

TM has currently not yet forwarded any RIAA or RIM copyright infringement letters to their subscribers, but will consider to do it in view of the upcoming Government Legislation – the ISP Liability Act.

That's what we don't know. What we do know is that a cap will be implemented probably on January 2011.

Take my advice and don't subscribe to Unifi. Unless you really want to no matter what, but that's another story.

Edit: The speed for all packages VIP5,10 and 20 are said to be throttled back to 1Mbps for a period of 30 days if you hit the monthly download limit (which you probably will). It's a huge penalty. I'm am saying this based on what feedback I got from their customer service. This is what they told me.

no point of subscribing streamyx anymore if there were to be FUP for streamyx.

TM can detect whether your IP is at the same time simultaneously download and upload. Personally, I did use BT or any P2P since 1998 but stopped as I don't like it as I can only get reasonable speeds for latest popular files.
