eh, that has nothing to do with the update!

It is something,
cause according to changelog, MS stated that March update can link the credit card from non-support country in zune marketplace~
Which means we might now can buy apps through marketplace by linking our Credit Card.

Also, anyone who have updated theirs to 7390, can you pls share your MMS functionality whether it's working? cheers!
*
MMS works good even with factory 7004 or 7008 build. Using DiGi, so I think it might be Celcom's problems.

Another question, any1 with WP7 success access MIME code?
For me, DiGi, *128#, not really working, keep getting failed or super duper slow respond with no option to select the number to continue.

Hi all!

I'll be receiving my HTC Trophy 7 tomorrow. Just read a few posts above mine regarding the custom ringtone selection. Does that mean i need to use the default ringtone given by Microsoft? How about alarm tone?
*
So far no custom ringtone or notification sound for non-unlocked phone in WP7.

Is it WMP7 or HTC that you need to keep your phone in standby only the alarm will sound. I switched off my phone thinking the alarm will ring but it didn't -.- was late because of that.
*
I think most of the phone doesn't ring after you shut them down, so far in my memory, only Nokia can do this...

Want to ask other WP7 users here.. I'm currently using the Mozart with Digi Smart plan. I dunno why, but when I'm using the data connection only, I can't open any youtube videos. However, normal surfing seems to be fine. I tried this with several youtube apps available in the marketplace.

But if I connect to any wireless networks, youtube runs fine. Can anybody help me solve this problem?
*
Check if you're using the DiGi WAP or DiGi in HTC connection setup, according to my observation, using DiGi WAP CANNOT access YouTube video, while using DiGi (which i assume is DiGi Internet), I can stream the video without problems.

What's wrong with the Samsung WP7 phones? They've got AMOLEDs and they run on NAND flash and they've got superior cameras and speakers, beats HTC hands down.
*
Plus they are the only phone have problems with the February update, update fix for February update, March update......etc etc. Furthermore, they are FAMOUS for the locked Bootloader in Android, which I think might still persist in WP7 Handset. I did rather to use a SDHC Card and OLED in my phone which can be easily and stable update without a mess rather than a phone that have NAND, AMOLED etc etc... that possible brick your phone on update... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

QUOTE(sengot @ Apr 16 2011, 02:08 AM)
Hi, I am interested in Mozart and would like to know something.

Does the update works @ Malaysia? Coz I looked up on google carriers can block updates
Does Marketplace available to purchase? I mean purchase via credit card or something coz I heard Malaysia doesn't included atm? I intend to buy some of the games smile.gif

NoDo updates on Mozart?

Mozart users,  what abt ur battery life?

Thanks.
*
About Carrier issue, it is only applied on carrier branded phone, at least Malaysia is not in this type of business yet, we all have the Open market phone, except those who buy the singapore set might carrier branded. Anyway, carrier can only block 1 update cycle, means if they block feb update, they cannot block march update, and must push feb+march update in their scheduled time with MS. Thus if MS everytime push a pre update before any major update, then all of the user can get the major update guaranteed. at least for now.

Marketplace, currently MAL is not supported, and you still need to use some tricks to get ur CC working in marketplace...

Abt Battery life, with stock battery I can hold it for 1.5 to nearly 2 days without charging (until the critical battery notice) under below average usage, with 3 email acc that setting to receive update instantly, gps on, wifi on, and normal browsing activity, normal usage can last for 1 day+. Now changed to Mugen Battery, battery life significant improved for me, dunno others else.

About NoDo update, I can get it now without any hacks. Thus I think you can also get it now. Jz plug in to ur PC and open Zune software, VIOLLA! prompt u to install feb update, done, check update again, and VIOLLA AGAIN! march update available to install. ;-D

QUOTE(c010 @ Apr 15 2011, 05:28 PM)
well, you are not entirely right, the feb update issue only affected a small amount of samsung phone 7 user. bootloader lock is also another minor issue cos it only affects certain region or depending on batches. i bought my omnia 7 from singtel and i dont have whatsoever issue. if compare to HTC, performance wise is definitely on top of it when coming into loading games and apps because of the nand memory module.
*
QUOTE(spanker @ Apr 15 2011, 05:31 PM)
The Omnia 7 doesn't have failed NoDo update la, plus you can still download it manually. As for the bootloader, I'm not sure about the issues with Android phones, but Samsung WP7 has the most umm... "customizable" bootloader. Can config tethering, sync, etc.
*
QUOTE(c010 @ Apr 15 2011, 05:33 PM)
yes agreed. mine currently running nodo + "unlocked". well, at least omnia 7 can do internet tethering wink.gif
*
Congratulations to u all who go smooth without any problems, I nvr say that the issue affected all the SAMSUNG phone, but it DID make some phone unbootable or even brick it. It is known that because Samsung indeed used some hardware spec that out of MS specification, at least for me, the extra speed does not take first priority when I can have a more stable choice in general. Furthermore, I am not trying to start a brand war, indeed I'm quite attracted by Omnia 7 when it is not yet launch in Malaysia. Don't forget that the reply you quote is actually for a possible WP7 user to choose Mozart and Omnia 7, I'm just telling him/her a possible consideration of mine is stability than speed, it is jz an advise, and might or might not affect the user choice.

Dont think Omnia 7 will be launched in Malaysia in near future, perhaps a newer model. There is another option for those who are considering purchasing a WP7, LG optimus 7. LG is very similar to Samsung, both using NAND memory. Hence the performance is definitely out performed other WP7. If compare to Omnia 7, the screen is not as good.
*
LG Optimus 7 generally nice, except the hardware button looks like cheap plastic, a blow point for me...

i kind of prefer the LG's button because the other WP7 are touch button where you might accidentally trigger it. sometimes is quite annoying when you terpress the wrong button.

Agreed, but if atleast they can make it looks a little more elegant like their gorilla screen, i think i won't get my current HTC Mozart. XD

Could I ask, I remembered theres a .pdf viewer in WP7 if not mistaken. But could it be possible theres an app that could create or print documents to .pdf format?

Tried to search around in Market place but couldn't find any.
*
adobe reader is your pal to read pdf file in WP7, the software I think you're looking for is called Handy Scan. But IIRC, only paid version can save file as pdf...

My mozart battery cannot last me for a morning. A full charge before bed and till tomorrow 1pm the battery just go empty even i just use wifi for 15 minutes.

ANy Sifu here experience the same problem? I read the web mostly happen on HTC mozart.
*
Should have last longer than that, make sure to check ur push email setting and also close ur ie page properly, pressing back to home screen doesn't really close all the ie page. you need to close all the ie page in tab view then pressing back will only properly close ur ie. Furthermore, in my experience, if you have people hub opened and turn off your screen, ur phone battery will drain superb fast I think due to native apps will run in background and keep updating ur contact lastest wall post or update, thus battery will keep draining. Those are the tips I can share with u to preserve ur battery.

I think location service & wifi doesn't affect WP7 battery much, as I'm always keep it open, with stock battery, moderate usage with 3push email and some wifi usage, my phone can last for ~15 hours.

Yes, the official YouTube app is pretty useless for browsing, but you should still install it so that the video codec is available for other apps that might need it.
*
+1, without it, you will not able to click the YT link in FB apps for WP7 or FB in IE to open the video, this is so far what I had observe, it is still recommend you install it in yout WP7, and it is not bcoz of the apps useless, but is Google doesn't release YT source code for WP7, and prohibiting WP7 to access desktop version YT video. Thus currently only video in m.youtube.com can be played, but getting an error with www.youtube.com

Dude Apple had always been copying other people's ideas and then claiming for their own laugh.gif

That's why HTC had the good sense of paying Microsoft USD15 for each Android phone sold to avoid copyright infringement lawsuits laugh.gif
*
Dude, HTC paying MSFT 15USD for each Android Device sold is a strategic agreement for HTC, cuz HTC's Android device is accused in patent infringement by Apple(correct me if I remember it wrong), which Google have none in mobile field and only verbally saying will help HTC to fight this lawsuit, while MSFT stand up and propose this agreement to help HTC to escape from this lawsuit by claiming the technology using in HTC android device is MSFT patent and is now licensed to HTC's Android device, which in result that HTC had to pay MSFT for each Android device they sold.

Just a question, lets say there is an announcement on release of Nokia/Samsung Windows Phone on early Sept, for how many weeks after that it will be available in Malaysia??

Cos what i can see, Malaysia is always late on receiving new phones..
*
FYI, Malaysia is one of the Country that receive WP7 in first batch release (which is earlier that US), it is just our importer or carriers act slow due to I think is unpopular of WP7 needs in Malaysia market.

*
Use a valid US address. Zune is now currently support US and some UK area only. If u're registering ur CC with Singapore address, go to xbox live website and update it, since xbox live support Singapore, after you updated your xbox live account detail, go update in Zune website again...

Yes and No.
If you know and already unlocked you device, then the answer is YES.
If you don't, then the answer is NO.

I also confused la about the HTC 7 Mozart.

1. some state got FM some don't.
2. some state the lcd come with gorilla glass, some don't...

Confused lar.

TQ.

I can confirm that Mozart come with Gorilla Glass.

Source by:

1. myself as a Mozart user.
2. http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/htc
3. http://www.thetechnoclast.com/2011/04/29/h...oodies-contest/

P.S. there is also source saying that the gorilla glass applied for HTC Mozart is less scratch-resistant compared with the 1 used in HD2.

P.S.S. As for me, no SP for 1 month and can't make a scratch of it, but later on I still applied SP cuz using the otterbox case which come with the SP. =)

Because your charger's electric field is affecting the capacitive touch screen.
