I think everyone has some sort of data plan one. Cause telcos want to enable ppl to make use of MMS.

If you don't want it to sync your contact data and stuff, go to Settings->Email & Accounts, set the grab content Every X option to manually.

There are a few more things that talk about auto sending data when connected in settings, just look through the options and turn them off.
