make sure your psu is decent, by that I mean very efficient .... get one at least where the fan don't spin unnecessary or at very low speed, better still get one that is fanless ....

anyway, my notebook uses an external power adapter (don't they all?), batteries?, and its fans don't spin most of the time ....
