Hi, I am new to this and just got the R6B. It will not see my external USB drives. I tried five of them. I'm at a loss as to what to do and right now the unit is just a pretty looking brick.

Firmware is 1.0.1.17

Is there some kind of secret to getting the eGreat to see the USB drive so I can watch my movies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I got it to recognize a USB stick. Though the film I played through it had audio that was insanely low. And a second file it played, with a PINK cast to the picture, but good audio. The same pink cast used for the main setup screen. I am beyond frustrated here.

The file that played with a pink cast was an MP4. The one that played with a perfect picture was an mkv. ?????

Does the eGreat not recognize exFAT drives?

msp1518,

Try to use the firmware posted by FusionTradeSupply on 17 Feb. It works for me.
Good luck

Are there any instructions on how to actually go about doing the update? I don't want to turn my unit into a brick.

For R6B users, are your menu's kind of pinkish? When you play your files, does that pinkish color ever NOT go away?

Hi,

Only support Fat32 and NTFS.

The firmware posted earlier is not for your unit.

Please do not flash the firmware which posted earlier.

Try format your external HDD to NTFS using Windows.

Thanks.

I won't flash the firmware. smile.gif

Okay, I tried an NTFS drive and it works.

Unfortunately, I cannot find where to set the volume. Where can I find that function? The menu on this thing is so basic with few options.

The other issue is the pink color of the eGreat's menu system stays when I try to play some files, so my picture is mostly pink. The mkv's I have tried were all fine. But the MP4's were all pink. MP4 is a supported format, so this shouldn't be happening. I emailed eGreat and they told me their units do not support MP4, but that is ridiculous. I know they do and MP4 is listed on their website as being supported.
