Hi all,
Initially, was thinking to re-tiles my house, however, since i wanted to rent it out, was re-thinking to save cost, not to re-tiles the floor instead and mend the parquet. What should i do if i want to DIY? There's approx. 20 pieces of parquet came off and i want to stick it back....however, do i need to apply "Syelek"? i want to apply this so that it will looks better, however, i am not sure how to do it....apply and then use sand paper, then re-apply? I remember in Form 3, we did that for our Kemahiran hidup.....
Appreciate if you can enlighten me....what's the material to buy in hardware shop?
Further, i want to check, because i want to apply water proof in 2 of my bathroom, any contractor doing that? How much is it? i get a plumber but i have yet to check about the contractor for tiling...
Please let me know if you know.
Thanks

i bought a subsale house, and this is also my problem.
i dont have any budget to change the parquet to tiles. so i opt for garnishing the parquet. i bought the parquet block @ hardware stores (selling for RM8.++ for a block of 4x4), and my contractor will glue it for me to replace the missing ones.
and at the end of the week (hopefully) another contractor will come to garnish the parquet (they have as special machine for this). if the outcome is ok, i'll share the contact number here.
basically the budget is around 1 - 1.5k (i've asked few contractors). but the one i got is below 1k.

U can always use parquet glue selling at hardware shops for RM 15 or so. The Dunlop glue is widely used during the 80s and due to its 'high' nature, people stopped using it. Plus, it is a health hazard for those with children below ages of 5.
BTW, my company specialized in timber flooring rectifications. We install / rectify any type of timber flooring from solid to engineered and from semi-engineered to laminated. Been doing this for the past 10 years and we have our own in-house workers, machinery and vehicles.
