xbox 360 you need access fee to their live network right ?
while PSN is for free, so PS3 gets my vote

if TS want to play free pirated games, better stay in PC.

it is ultimately your choice
choose the console which has the most games/value you love...........

play the game, not the console...

you need to narrow down your target.. Xbox, ps3 & wii are console gaming for home use..

while the psp,3ds are more for mobile handheld gaming..

if you are looking for long gameplay hours, superrior graphics then you need to go for console

waiting for something new to come is not actually a good idea.. because price factor will be high for the first launch.. and usually it will stay that way for a year...

i have a psp and a ps3.... I dont really touch the psp unless im traveling. My suggestion is xbox or ps3. Both console is almost the same... see the game tittle you want to play and what you want to play. You want to play on9 or offline...

I learn that if you ask people you tend to get more confuse..

all i can say ps4 wont be out so at least another few years because game developer is having hard time to produce games for the ps3 and xbox with nice graphic. ps3 just launch their ps move. I doubt that they will come up with ps4 anytime soon.

Ultimately it boils down to these two questions:

1. What kind of games do you really like?

2. Which consoles are they available on?; and

3. How likely are you to be playing multiplayer?

#1 & #2 are related, as if the games you like are exclusive to a particular console.......then that would be the console for you.

For #3, if you're really into online multiplayer gaming then in terms of best online experience it would have to be the Xbox 360. While the Xbox Live experience is 2nd to none, it does come at a price while the online gaming on the PSN is FREE.

But basically, you should really base your decision on the games that are available for the respective consoles.

If you want to go further......connecting and Windows 7 based PC to your 360 will give you a fantastic home theater experience in the form of Windows Media Center while the PS3 provides you with a ready Bluray player....

now is probably a good time. it's somewhere in the middle of the hardware cycle. PS4 is probably not due for another two or three more years at least.

No, there is no such platform as Ps4. From my info, Sony will ugrade the ps3 instead of releasing Ps4 cause there is no new technology available. This could run for quite a few years. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks! tongue.gif

Whoa... wait for PS4? Duno wait till when lor... If you ask about PSP2 then still ok...But I will still recommend to buy PSP3K for save keep cuz they got no UMD reader dy in PSP2... They will be vintage in the future also, like your SNES or gameboy...

All i can say is buy PS3... If you like FPS they also have... Adventure and everything... Nowadays, except for JRPG (clearly mostly for PS3 cuz Xbox dun really sell in that country) or certain indie games (that is if you even like it in the first place) there are no more exclusivity nonsense dy, well maybe Gears of War or Fable for the Xbox.. But hey, Uncharted and god of war is more fun and you can only play on PS3.. Mass effect is coming to PS3 too... So why not get it?

As for Xbox.... Wait till they one day got this function then buy la.. save money, no nid kinect.. lol..

or if you want wait till one day got this oso can.. XD

Hmmm, kinda hard to get a good console. But currently, PS3 has the edge...

no new console for year 2011, but for portable console yes la...
Apr 2011, Nintendo 3DS is out, well, its support glassless 3d
Nov 2011, PSP2, the processing power is more powerful than xbox360.. its like portable PS3... not bad aaa...

If we are lucky, successor of Wii 2 will be out in 2012 (Apr 2012, expected to announce TGS Sep 2011)... thats what most gaming analyst speculate

Actually, it really comes down to 2 things:

1. Which console has the games you like; and
2. Do you like playing online multiplayer games?

For #1, both consoles have their own exclusive AAA titles but a number of games are available for both.

For #2, the PSN is FREE while Xbox LIVE requires a subscription so the Total Cost of Ownership for the 360 is higher than the PS3 if you play online. On the other hand, playing on Xbox LIVE is much better experience than the PSN (personally opinion, since I have both consoles)

Oh, and if you're into blurays, just get the PS3.

Which one? PS3.
Right time to buy? Yes.

I'll go for PS3 coz:-

- PS3 exclusive games are mostly superb.
- Excellent Audio & Video (HD and surround sound gaming - I use optical cable to a Denon receiver 7.1 surround, HDMI to LCD)
- PS3 Eye and Move controller for motion gaming.
- online gaming is free. Tons of free stuff in PSN.
- it's a Blu-ray player (all HD audio types supported and even 3D Bluray Video). Stand alone 3D Blu-ray player can easily cost RM1500+++

I got a PS3 Slim with Move controller. For me, worth every single ringgit.

agreed with him. What makes PS3 distinguishes itself from Xbox360 is its capability to play blueray. Once you watch a Blueray movies, you'll never wanna watch Astro again. tongue.gif And with latest firmware update, you don't even have to churn out some extra cash to have a 3D-capable player, because PS3 is capable of playing 3D blueray and games. 3D games are just awesome dude. brows.gif

I loled.

1. Really?
2. Well it depends on what your type of media your watching and listening and what home entertainment system your having because each person varies
3. I loled.
4. I also loled
5. I think some of the blu-ray player price have reduce. Some blu-ray player now comes with an a/v receiver as well. So it depends on the buyer what they really want.

To be honest, I have both console and both have their own pros and cons.

It all boils down to your own preference. My simple rule on deciding is
1. What games do you like to play? RPG? Shooting?
2. Earning power. Your capacity to buy games.

mind telling why u LOL'ed? rolleyes.gif

Yea, you can get lots of cheap BD player nowadays, but it's an added advantage when u have a console that's capable of playing games as well as watching BD movies, with 3D some more.

Earning power? Don't tell me when you have a 360 or even PC, you'll get cheaper games unless you go for that pirate/jailbreak thingy. If so, then you're out of the league bro.

I loled because some people are so towards PS3

Not everyone would want to have ps3. I know some of my friends rather get the blu-ray player than to get a ps3.

Well it all depends. For PC gamers, Steam has much better offer and you can strike a good deal compare to buying console games but then again, many good games are not on PC.

How about this TS? List out 20 games that you really really want to play then we can evaluate for you biggrin.gif

What I know so far is that xbox live support for Malaysia is not so good, not all the downloadable games are available for us to buy, I sold my xbox for PS3 after a few times of "This Selection is not available in your region" sort.

PS: Restrictiong FF13 to R1 was the final drive tongue.gif

That's why I've said, TS wants to play games, and isn't it an added advantage for him to have a platform that's capable of playing games and Blueray at the same time? You can even experience playing games in 3D some more if you have the required hardwares e.g 3D TV. Basically, the PS3 provides no extra cost when it comes to 3D gaming.

And what's wrong with going towards PS3? If Microsoft pay a better attention to Malaysian gamers, I have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend 360 to anyone. Not really to be a fanboy to Sony, but merely on supporting to those who give us the attention needed here in Malaysia's gaming world.

the new kinect and move only released for a couple of months. both Microsoft and Sony will want to milk back the money before releasing the next console.

Earliest we will see an announcement by mid or end of the year of 2012. and new console comes out 2013. That is suppose the earliest.

Unless you count nintendo, their consoles are extremely outdated so we won't know when they will come out with new console.
