I hav a Ipad,Ipod and Iphone.
i only use the Ipad wall adaptor to charge all my devices because Ipad Adaptor is a 2Ampere adaptor. When i use it to charge my ipod and iphone it charges faster and the battery life last longer.
using a lower Ampere adaptor will "degrade" your battery over a long period.
Ampere (A), In practical terms, is a measure of the amount of electric charge passing a point per unit time.
ipod and iphone adaptor is 1A and ipad is 2A Is that the reason why iPads don't charge when connected to laptops cos I think laptop's USB is only 0.5A?
