I just received my ipad 2 today.. I'm living in the US currently.. Am I suppose to let it charge first or run the ipad until the battery is drained first? If charge first, how long should I charge?

WTF! Don't jelly la gogo2. I heard people say charge first and other say just drain first. FYI the supplied battery life is 80% when I unbox.

I just wanna make sure the battery last longer. The battery is not as easy to replace like laptops or handphones.

about the grey market, i was unable to buy an ipad 2 at apple store since every morning got old chinese ladies and sometime families camped outside the store to sapu all the ipad 2's.. after 2 weeks fail to buy i just decided to just order online which i received today.. yay..

I decided to charge my ipad 2 for 4 hours.. Just finished syncing the apps and now I'm just playing with a few apps while waiting for the 4.3.2 update to finish download (2 hours)..

I tried the compass but it didn't work.. Wifi version got no gps I guess..

you tried turning on brightness full then watch empty black screen in the dark liao?

mine got backlight bleeding too but not too bad.. I called apple customer service and he told me that I can exchange it anytime within one year..

replacing now is problematic since you might end up getting the same or even worse bleeding.. plus stocks are still low at apple stores..

also apple is getting a new supplier for the lcd, don't know if it will have any impact on the light bleeding..

either way I'm gonna use my ipad 2 kaw2 for a few months before replacing for a new one

No.. they just check your ipad's serial number..

no.. but I already asked the apple store as well as customer service.. no need receipt..

well that was for the ipad 2 (my first and only Apple device).. I'm not sure if it's the same for all Apple products..

this has been answered many times liao.. it is unlocked but make sure to buy AT&T version as it uses GSM..

I'm so happy today! I manage to replace my light leaking iPad 2 at the Apple store. The sales rep just replaces my iPad and I still kept my original box, charger and everything else.

I noticed that the replacement unit that the sales rep took out was from a different box. Not the normal white box. Got me thinking maybe those replacement units were assembled separately and more carefully compared to the normal mass production that is sold to consumers.

I take back my words.

damn it.. I just checked.. still got light bleeding and on top of that there's a dead pixel.. I'm not sure whether to wait until all this mess subsides since I might get another defective if I change it now..

This is really ridiculous. Anyway I'm going to ask for a refund and probably order the ipad again later since if I replace will only get refurbished ones which probably from other owners who returned their ipads.

For a refund it has to be within 2 weeks of purchase.

I'm in the US right now. Malaysia doesn't have an official Apple store.
