Just remember to use these settings.

video format - .mov
Codec - x264
Encoding Mode - 1 pass bit rate (or 2 pass bitrate...much longer conversion time but great quality)
AVC profile - Main Profile (don't use High profile as the iPad is not fast enough to decode the video)
AVC level - 3.1
Bitrate - 1800 for animations and 3500 - 4000 for regular movies.
Audio - convert to stereo if you are converting from 5.1 etc

biggrin.gif im planning to buy one used iPad1 for my 4 yrs old kid if the used unit very low price smile.gif . haha, he likes to play musics apps on iPad!
