because they change the rotation lock button to mute button, not sure which firmware change it back again.... well inside setting there can set back....i not sure where, you have to find your self because i still using iOS 3x. 
Not sure if anyone had replied this, so here it goes:-Double press the HOME button, your screen will move up and a row of most used apps will appear at the last row (used to be the dock)...
Swipe right on this row (left to right la..) and you get the Rotation Lock icon (the one with a round circle arrow) on the left most... click on this and a "lock" logo will appear in the center... rotation is locked to the orientation you were at...
Exit back to homescreen and you will see the same locked rotation logo (a mini one) on the top row on the left...
iOS 4.2 removed the Rotation Lock from the switch, and iOS 4.3 will return it as an option to select either MUTE or Rotation Lock...
