dont do the towel trick unless u have warranty. do xclamp replacement to extend ur x360 lifetime for 1 to 2yrs

i got new prob, when enter game then screen got artifact and then boom checkered effect lol.

so far towel trick reduce rrod so far, how much x clamp replacement cost?

go and look in garagesales some ppl offering rrod repair service.

I sent my xbox elite (dunno what edition but us the black xbox)
to smartchoice at berjaya times square to fix. RM300 last year.. dunno what is the price for 3rrod repairs now.. but within 2 weeks my xbox came back good as new.. they did warn me that the 3rrod might occur again as there is no gurantee for my set against it... but, no complains on my end.

Sorry to hear that friend. My old xbox 360 had 5 rroD. Microsoft repaired them all for free, but it got really annoying when I had to ship the thing out to them all the time. Plus I probably paid well near $100 for shipping it all together over the 5 times.

I'd just get the new xbox 360, I hear it's pretty decent.

Time to upgrade to XBOX Slim+ Kinect....RM 12xx only.

5 rrod

is there anyone want to sell the xbox internal fan..the double one..got RROD on my elite, already replace the x clamp but after RROD light still on..i've check that the fan shutting down and the lights appear..

360 Slim should have been released on day one... right now the ultimate fix would be get a 360 Slim and have a peace of mind.

Fren, go get a new Xbox slim and forget about fixing it, becoz sure come back again. RM300 or RM200 is not worth spending. If money is your concern at the moment, then stop gaming for awhile and wait till you save enough to get a slim.

fix it then sell it out

use that money to buy xbox slim

better buy new set
don't waste your money on fixing

the best solution was buy xbox360 slim .. not worth sending for x-clamp , reballing etc.

today my xbox 3rrod again. i open the case, clean the old thermal paste,replace with new thermal paste and
after struggling putting it all back together again(the xclamp really difficult tu put in place) i turn it on.

still 3rrod, turn off the fan for about 5 minutes until got 2 rrod. reboot it and it went back normal with green light.
after playing around i turn it off and on only to be greet by the 3RROD!!!!

then i try to do the 2RROD trick again, but this time it won't overheat! the heatsink is COLD even after 10 minutes of
flashing the 3RROD. its like even the console is on, the cpu and gpu is not.

anyone experienced something like this? is there any hope left for this console to revive again?

nope, it 4 years old now....manufacturing date on the mobo jun 2006, that almost 5 years ago.
