Need guide, the more I read here the more confused I get sad.gif

Question
- Is Darky 5.5 permanent root? Can I revert back to previous version (Froyo) or can I move forward to Gingerbread when it is available in future?
- If I reset to factory default, everything is fast until I downloaded apps, games. I heard some apps or games may caused the lag problem. Is this true?
- Will Darky resolve my problem listed below?

My current problem
- batt dropped to almost 5% everyday by 9pm (@100% when at 9am)
- once awhile the screen seems extreme slow (no response then sudden keep changing screen as i keep touch the screen here and there when it happened)
- gps locking take long time


My SGS configuration
- firmware 2.2
- baseband I9000DXJPA
- kernel 2.6.32.9 root@SE-S604#1
- build - FROYO.DXJPA
- 3G always on from 9am-9pm
- wifi on when 3G disabled
- push mail sync every 30 mins
- watchdog enabled all time
- brightness at minimum

BTW, should I use Darky's Gingerbread Edition v5 or Stock Froyo XXJPU? Don't wanna make mistake else I gonna throw this phone away. The lagging make me upset! sad.gif

use JPU 1st lor if JPU solves most of ur problem then mayb u can stick to it and if ur feeling adventurous then get darky... XD
quite impress with JPU but then Darky has more customization and a lot of unused stock apps removed

Do I need to update to XXJPU first? Then launch Odin and apply Darky 5.5?

I m stucked again using Odin to update XXJPU

I selected files for PIT, PDA, PHONE & CSC with repartition checked. Phone in download mode, connected to USB. Press start and waited 30mins. It does not show PASS mode.

Did I missed anything? Thanks
