This LG Optimus 2X is a dual core phone, no? If yes, then no surprise la if it beats the SGS.

Also, I saw someone posted comment on the youtube video - "Galaxy S locks on 56fps,,,,,,, the real power is more".. Dunno how true this is.
*
The benchmark is 3D or just benchmarking on pure processing power? Doesn't look that 3D to me though.

If it's pure processing power, don't think there is any locking apply.

People just gotta accept the fact that, SGS is aged already. lol

I just want to see Android having GPU-accelerated UI and display rendering so that the OS can leverage the power of the phone's graphic chip.
*
Expect a higher battery drain on this seeing that the GPU is in used most of the time when the UI is active.

on xxjpu it has a huge battery drain already, can't imagine if its worse =.=

I guess this is the good reason for me to put on hold my plan to flash to JPU kernel.

I wanna ask you all. How did you all managed to get the screencapture working all the time (Froyo)? Did you use 3rd party screencap program instead?

My default screencap (back + home) doesn't work most of the time. 11 times out of 10 don't work. lol.

Any tips in that? Even freshly rebooted the phone also the same. Only if lucky, sometimes it work. So I haven't been capturing my screen for a while now.

That looks like Samsung's reply to supercurio when he asked them to release the source code for JPU firmware. No mention by Samsung that they plan to develop/release Gingerbread for the SGS that I can see..
*
I'd say, supercurio was trying to test water with those internal people to see if they'd leak any evidence of their development on Gingerbread for SGS. I guess he didn't get any piece of that bread in the end. Not even the source code for JPU! lol.

Higher battery when using GPU to handle UI graphics compared to using CPU?
*
Yup, assuming that GPU usually drains more battery compared to CPU.

shouldn't using CPU consumes more? hmm.gif
*
I'd place my bet on GPU using more battery due to the complexity of 3D processor against CPU.

Well, at least on PC case, it does. I mean, my notebook been blowing hot air, all thanks to the 3D GPU which worked non-stop. I guess it's not much different when it comes to mobile device, or maybe my doubt was wrong.

i know for a fact there's NO LAG on a Desire non-HD
i assume you using swype as well?
*
Desire's WhatsApp's chat history is stored on external sdcard, which has no lag (or less?) problem like our internal sd on FAT. sad.gif

why crappy?
*
Notification bug. It sometimes don't show/sound. Then suddenly I notice there are 2 or more unread SMSes. If the screen was locked, if you activate screen without unlocking phone, the notification bar doesn't show the GoSMS icon if there are unread SMSes.

Due to this, I missed my friend SMS and went to nap at 7pm. Only noticed that the SMS has arrived since 6:14pm when I unlocked my phone at 8pm. Crap! vmad.gif

Revert back to Handcent, which is much much more reliable.

Samsung's Snap N' Go is so interesting. Try it out from Samsung Apps.

No more browsing via Samba/FTP. rclxms.gif

Actually no where that it says it would backup the facebook links. (?)

I don't want the app to 'move' facebook photos into my Gmail contacts. I want all native. sad.gif

Anyway, could a kind soul who has tried give some insights?
*
If you can get HTC Sense's ROM to work on your phone, you might get the contact linkages working. smile.gif

But of course, you are stuck with HTC Sense's not so pretty interface as well.

but got some trick for the update..do read the details on few pages back.

I just install the .apk file. It takes unusually longer than other apps to install but it works fine now.

Gotta wait like 3-5 minutes for the installation, just don't switch off the phone.

Guys,
I'm in the middle of Sg. Klang :-

[attachmentid=1948838]

My location kinda messup since I upgrade Darky v6.0 from v5.6
Map loading fast but "my location" is somewhat very far from acceptable accuracy.

Running map over wifi or Digi 3g produce same result.
*
Don't think using wifi/3g make any difference. I believe the data access is needed for you to update to server only. Your location is pretty much estimation distant from the cell tower.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my best guess.

z7log is the files created by your Samsung Push email app.

Delete them cause they can take up quite some space, unless you want to keep them for debugging purposes.

Can be disabled/lessen in the settings of the app. Look around for it.

The power button on video recording is just to lock the interface from any touches.
