just wanna share..
my SGS running on stock XXJPU.. now in 3rd days..
no lag fix.. no speedmod

what can I say.. the performance great.. almost great as when I use 2.2 + kernel speedmod

also almost great like 2.2 + voodoo..

feel the performance on "Manage Application", Gallery, All Gameloft games, Messaging and the SD media scanning.. all fast..

btw.. i didn't use any TaskKiller.. I only use some reboot apps where it will reboot my phone every 5.30AM

im very happy with my SGS..
for now.. didn't plan to apply any speedmod or lagfix.. coz its superb now

(P/S: last 3 days im using Doc's XXJPU version 4)

Do u have the same bug on battery where the % drop as soon as u unplug it from a fully charge? I tried wipe cache, wipe battery stat, still drop to 99%. Haiz...

Saw this problem on both DOC and Darky.

Another thing, i felt Darky is a little immature, he lost his temple on plp complaining about battery life. However i did not see this on DOC. Haiz..

Personally, I feel that this 1-2% instant drop is not a big issue.. I see this happening on my phone too.

Darky 5.6 also has this issue. not only 5.6, previous Darky v5's the same too. if v6 is still the same, tat means Darky's fix = fail

as long as u flash to DARKY ROM then it will be XXJPU/X firmware rite?
even previously u r at JM8 or other eclair or froyo...rite?

Hows ur battery consumption on v6? Mine sucks big time. 15 mins surfing on wifi, i lost 8%!! How am i going to get out of the house like tht?

I don't know if u notice any changes in the Wifi function or not.

Let me explain what im trying to say.

In the previous release of Android, the phone was on DXJG4. Using Wifi at my home, the wireless modem is at 1st floor hall, and when i use the hp at ground floor living hall, wifi signal shows 1 bar or none.

But now, the hp has XXJPU + Darky's 5.6, the wifi signal bar shows more than 2 bars and at times, 4 bars at the same location.

I think, Samsung must hv modified the ROM and increase the wifi signal strength.

That is why, most of u are complaining the battery level drops very fast when using wifi.

Just my 5 cents sharing.

looks to me like Darky v6 and Doc's V6 are both still not really stable yet

the darky new one is clean install or it will not remove my app ?

Actually, coming from a clean stock JPU then flashed to clean stock JPX and then Darky 6.0, I did notice 1 small bug or issue - when going to Settings / Display / Wallpapers / Lock Screen Wallpaper / Gallery, I get process com.android.settings FC everytime. Probably it's pointing to stock gallery app and Darky has removed that in favour of the modded gallery app?

Added on December 21, 2010, 2:40 pmOh yeah, one more thing. Had a very interesting experience flashing fresh XXJPX. Everytime I flash using ODIN, with 512 pit and repartition checked, the phone would finish and boot with non stop vibrations.

Had to flash XXJPU with 512 pit and repartition checked, then flash XXJPX without pit and without repartition to get it up to JPX without issues.

I see, I guess that must be why.. Thanks for explaining, bro.

Stock Eclair.. wow, feels like so long ago.

You do Eclair followed by Darky because you want the 2e recovery menu (in order to apply Darky), yes? How about CF-Root, do you still use after going to Darky or is Darky already pre-rooted?

I actually did JPU via ODIN -> JPX via ODIN -> CF-Root via ODIN -> CWM update.zip via 2e -> Darky 6.0 zip via CWM. Indian ma, I like long winded process..

i was surprise they dint suggest eclair actually... it's alot easier i suppose?
