Download CWM, name it as update.zip

Download darkky rom, no need rename

Put both in internal SD

use ODIN flash your phone to ANY eclair rom. Make sure you disable lagfix first.

go to recovery, apply update.zip, twice

Then factory reset, wipe cache.

Then apply darkky's rom.

Settle

eclair rom is much easier, coz after u clean install with any eclair rom (for example: DXJG4), u have the 2e and u can apply the update.zip which is the CWM directly. if you go through with froyo rom, you have to flash CF-Root via odin again to have those recovery.

so, better flash with eclair rom. much easier and not complicated.

Thanks bro. Fully understood now! thumbup.gif

but isnt it better to use a later base rom before applying darky's mod??
I mean if u use froyo instead of eclair would it be better or any benefits???  or it fully depends on darky instead
*
Don't worry bro, your rom will finally flash to XXJPX if you apply darky's mod

You're wrong there. I never installed Kies before. I am using the SGS drivers from Softpedia.com for my Windows laptop (Win7 32bit). At home, I just enable usb_debugging to access the phone from my Linux (Ubuntu 10.04 64bit and 10.10 64bit) computers.
*
OK. Maybe i skip the usb_debugging step....but why i able connect after installed KIES? hmm.gif

anooo.... you could use this method.. but you still need to download kies

Requirements:
-Samsung Kies installer package
-7-zip

Procedure:
1.Install 7-zip
2.Right click the Kies installer and Find 7-zip->Extract to "Kies_x.x.x.xxxxx_xx\"
3.Navigate to "Kies_x.x.x.xxxxx_xx-->CabFile-->USB Driver"
4.Right click the "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe.cab" file and 7-zip->Extract to "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe\"
5.Open the folder SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe\ and execute SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe and follow the installer instructions.
6.Enjoy connecting your phone without the full Kies install.
*
Thx for precious explanation....will have a try later....
_______________
After Uninstalled KIES(+driver) and re-install driver only as instruction above shown,
my phone able connect to my laptop directly without usb_debugging and KIES programs is out from my laptop now.

What mode is your phone in when attempting to connect to PC? Mass Storage?
*
Yup, Mass Storage. Is only the latest driver from KIES able connect to PC directly?
