Please be noted that PBB cashback only given out in 6-8 weeks, which mean in the 1st month statement u will never know how much cash back u will entitle, u will only know on 2nd or 3rd month statement. Weekend will only entitle 10% and Weekday will entitle for 15%. From the previous thread, one of the PBB cardholder did mention within mid of the month still can get the cash back, so u may try your luck on spending asap laugh.gif

and the PBB Esso-Mobil extra 3% rebate also will be given out in 6-8 weeks

this is what their customer service told me last few weeks ago

*
isn't that Digi EPP plan is combine together of phone value and bill value? i'm not sure about this

One of my friend earn quite high, around 3-4k per month, but every month spend until finish, because he need to settle car loan, rental, EPP for phone, EPP for sunglasses bla bla bla, i already advise him to cut down on spending because this commitment could kill him if he cannot sustain the income, he is doing sales line fyi.
This is how nowadays Y-Generation people spend, too attracted by the glamorous and forget the 4 basic thing of our life(Food, Car, House and Clothes) which u need the minimal to survive

I have yet to receive my EON Signature card, not free today to go branch and check if arrived but already got another telemarketer calling me to ask if want do Cash On Call or something like that where interest 3.99% upfront. But they offering only up to 50% of CL whereas HLB also calls me time to time offering cash loan for 6.99% (i think should be 6 months period) but up to 90% of my CL.

By the way, they claim it is 0% interest but that is not entirely true. This is because they will charge 5% tax (7% next year) not only to the postpaid plan you sign up for but also to the iPhone.
You are looking for credit card with lower points needed for shopping voucher redemption right ? This is why i suggested these cards in the first place.

Would suggest you to go for Alliance Younique MasterCard as this card gives you both cash back and point (if you choose the rebate option).
*
for Maxis or Digi? Is it true?

I've read through Digi brochure and the 5% is government service tax on the phone plan

oh btw regarding the Air-Asia cash voucher of RM200 my parent received, it is from Air-Asia but not from Citibank, my mistake on this
they got it because my parent often buy in behalf of my relative

It's for DiGi.

[attachmentid=1936446]

u misinterpret the meaning behind it

tax - enforce by government
charge - widely use on business

service tax of 5% is enforce by government for those who provide professional services, therefore telco services is subject to that 5% tax, Read here

Example:-
Iphone RM1999 spread to 24 months = RM83.30 (No service tax on this)
Plan package each month RM63 plus 5% service tax = RM66.15

for DiGi iPhone, well I sign up for the 24 months plan earlier this year for the iPhone 3GS where the amount is charged to my DA. The iPhone is used mainly for internet and calls never exceed the allocated minutes. Then few months back was at DiGi and I asked the can I sign up auto debit for my iPhone account eventho the bill is RM0 (since I know that I get RM5 discount for my BB RM58 plan) and was informed sure. So signed up for auto debit with my AMEX Gold CC and now the iphone account has more RM26 credit thumbup.gif

yah, EPP and other installement plans kind make us spend more and buy stuff we would otherwise cannot afford. I have mentioned before, sometimes we get discount if we were to swipe in full instead of going for EP with merchant. Last year Harvey Norman gave me RM100 discount for a HP tablet and more than RM300 for a cloth dryer on condition I don't do 0% installements with them. Was also given discount for furniture shop at Subang Parade if don't go for installments.
just sharing on the cash on call thingy. I just checked EON bank's cash on call. Pretty good if need cash, with the 1% cash back the interest is 3.99% for 12 months as mentioned by the telemarketer. The rate is even lower than my OD facilities. I can even make some money out of it - only if I can still get FD  with interest paying 5%. Or if want to buy car and just need loan for 1 year tenure, this may be an option as car loans minimum tenure 3 years.
*
I love Digi plan because of the data plan, no charges after u exceed the quota, Maxis on the other hand tend to charge those who exceed the data limit, a lot of my friend kena few hundred because of Maxis stupid policy

they have to pay a certain rate of charges to Bank on the EPP they provide, bank will never do "rugi" business laugh.gif

By the way, you may want to wait until next month before buying an iPhone. The government is scrapping the 10% tax on cellphone (already added to the price). It means all cellphones will be 10% cheaper if you buy it next year  biggrin.gif

u may try, there is a tier rate of rebate plus the special rebate of 3%

if your petrol bill per month is more than RM200, is 5% rebate plus smile card rebate 1.5%

next year onwards, cash rebate will be capped at rm50 a mth. so let's say i buy a TV from a supermarket, eg. Tesco, it will be billed under 'groceries shopping' so 5% lo rite? let's say TV is rm2k, 5% of rm2k is rm100!!! so i should choose to pay per installment lo, better ma like that rite? if not wasted cos capped at rm50 nia. correct?  brows.gif

any installment plan will not receive any cash reward or point for every bank credit card if i'm not mistaken

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 19 2010, 09:56 AM)
Talking about big swipe, I had done enough survey before swiping a huge amount for partial downpayment of my recent property purchase. I needed to pay RM80,000 within 2 weeks and the developer accepted MC or Visa, but not Amex. During that time I only had Amex Gold cc, OCBC Titanium and SCB JustOne Titanium. I wanted a card which could give maximum rebate for the big swipe. I shortlised HLB Visa Essential, PBB Platinum and SCB WMC. HLB Visa Essential does not give cash back to offset the service tax for new card, while PBB Platinum's cash back and points are based on complicated tier system and PBB could not guarantee to deliver the card within 2 weeks. In the end, I applied for SCB WMC and received the card 14 days later. SCB gave me 30,000 points as a welcome gift. Soon after I received my SCB WMC, I paid the partial downpayment using SCB JustOne Titanium (RM10,000 for 5% cash back) and SCB WMC (RM70,000 for 2x points or 1% cash back). For those who are familiar witn SCB JustOne Titanium should know that this card gives 5% cash back for all types of purchases made on Fridays and the maximum cash back per year is capped at RM600 per month. The reason I swiped only RM10,000 on SCB JustOne Titanium was that I had already spent more than RM5,000 and SCB JustOne Titanium needs an annual spending of RM15,000 for AF waiver.

After the huge transaction was made, I immediately applied for DA VI which was given 1-hour instant approval in Pavilion. Thereafter I submitted the application for the 0% interest BT programme for 6 months from SCB to DA. By doing this, I could delay the payment but at the same time, the money that I had reserved for the payment to the developer could also keep growing in my deposit account. biggrin.gif

RM80k? brows.gif

Only a few developer accept credit card, normally they receive cash only. Seriously if every CC user like u, bank will be mad because they earn nothing from u, terbalik u earn back from them thumbup.gif laugh.gif

QUOTE(erry- @ Dec 21 2010, 06:08 PM)
nowadays, even i use my DA to purchase online at 1am for only RM34.xx (after convert), they will immediately call me to verify.
maybe bcoz online transaction, and at midnight.

same goes to HSBC, i swipe rm9k 1 shot and they immediately call me to verify too.
but if swipe 2k, 3k, they never call sweat.gif

even DA, previously i swipe (err, slot, actually?) my card twice at esso pump, they immediately blocked the card.

usually bcoz of smiles card cant be read (esso, credit card 1st then smiles card. shell, bonuslink 1st then credit card).

so at esso credit card already authorized, but smiles card cant read, so i cancel it.
when i swipe (slot) the DA card for 2nd time, declined! sad.gif
i immediately call the bank and they told the card had been blocked (afraid for unauthorized use for petrol).
i verify it and ask them to unblocked it.

this happen to me 2x in a same day! i pump once at morning and again at night.
solution: redeem points till finish and apply new smiles card laugh.gif

(my 'damage' smiles card cant be read at petrol pump but no problem if swipe at cashier inside sweat.gif)

this story happen b4 pbb offer esso/mobil  blush.gif

I notice they will monitor on your spending habit, for 1st time spending on internet transaction and huge amount, normally they will call and verify
it happen to my mum when she took Citibank CC to buy plane ticket, immediately called up and verify rclxms.gif
2nd time swipe in Thailand, didn't inform Citibank prior that and bought some jewelry and they immediately called up as well, lucky my mum phone was on that time thumbup.gif

Maybank? didn't call up to verify at all and my parent had been using for around 20 yrs
if i'm not mistaken is the Malaysia Airline Maybank credit card
