QUOTE(PPZ @ Dec 19 2010, 11:44 AM) hmm.. so instead of sticking to hsbc amanah which give me nothing besides the 0.5% rebate, i think it is a better choice to go for PBB Esso CC? i am a loyal esso customer also. Many cards are better than HSBC Amanah nowadays.MBB Petronas, CIMB Petronas, PBB Esso cc, Amex Gold cc, HLB Essential, OCBC Titanium..etc for example. Any one of the abovementioned is far better than Amanah. |

QUOTE(winner @ Dec 19 2010, 09:56 AM) Talking about big swipe, I had done enough survey before swiping a huge amount for partial downpayment of my recent property purchase. I needed to pay RM80,000 within 2 weeks and the developer accepted MC or Visa, but not Amex. During that time I only had Amex Gold cc, OCBC Titanium and SCB JustOne Titanium. I wanted a card which could give maximum rebate for the big swipe. I shortlised HLB Visa Essential, PBB Platinum and SCB WMC. HLB Visa Essential does not give cash back to offset the service tax for new card, while PBB Platinum's cash back and points are based on complicated tier system and PBB could not guarantee to deliver the card within 2 weeks. In the end, I applied for SCB WMC and received the card 14 days later. SCB gave me 30,000 points as a welcome gift. Soon after I received my SCB WMC, I paid the partial downpayment using SCB JustOne Titanium (RM10,000 for 5% cash back) and SCB WMC (RM70,000 for 2x points or 1% cash back). For those who are familiar witn SCB JustOne Titanium should know that this card gives 5% cash back for all types of purchases made on Fridays and the maximum cash back per year is capped at RM600 per month. The reason I swiped only RM10,000 on SCB JustOne Titanium was that I had already spent more than RM5,000 and SCB JustOne Titanium needs an annual spending of RM15,000 for AF waiver. RM80k? After the huge transaction was made, I immediately applied for DA VI which was given 1-hour instant approval in Pavilion. Thereafter I submitted the application for the 0% interest BT programme for 6 months from SCB to DA. By doing this, I could delay the payment but at the same time, the money that I had reserved for the payment to the developer could also keep growing in my deposit account. Only a few developer accept credit card, normally they receive cash only. Seriously if every CC user like u, bank will be mad because they earn nothing from u, terbalik u earn back from them Added on December 19, 2010, 1:03 pm QUOTE(erry- @ Dec 19 2010, 01:01 PM) oh i'm using cc for 7 years and never know about this! so the end u apply for PBB Esso-Mobil card, they offer 2.5 times of your salary?err my annual income more than this but still being rejected twice since u using esso, then go apply! its free for life with no condition. apply online so u can get 8% cashback (max rm80) on 1st statement. take it as to cover gst This post has been edited by yhtan: Dec 19 2010, 01:03 PM |

HLB do offer cashback to cover the gst NOW 2. PBB Plat cashback system is not complicated as Alliance. it just straight forward count, not tier QUOTE(winner @ Dec 19 2010, 09:56 AM) For those who are familiar witn SCB JustOne Titanium should know that this card gives 5% cash back for all types of purchases made on Fridays and the maximum cash back per year is capped at RM600 per month. QUOTE(chemistry @ Dec 19 2010, 01:28 PM) 'per month' & 'per year' is very big difference! yes i got it.600 per year = average 50 per month. He swiped 10k, 5%=500 already. Left only RM100 cashback quota. but he wrote rm600 per month, seems like can have max cashback more than rm600 per year, or if x12 its rm7200 per year nvm. the max is rm600 per year, but not rm50 per month This post has been edited by erry-: Dec 19 2010, 01:35 PM |

QUOTE(erry- @ Dec 19 2010, 01:35 PM) yes i got it. If it is true, then doesn't he make a mistake to swipe JustOne too much? but he wrote rm600 per month, seems like can have max cashback more than rm600 per year, or if x12 its rm7200 per year nvm. the max is rm600 per year, but not rm50 per month if he already earned some cashback previously, the remaining quota must be less already. Hence this 10K swipe might not earn full 5% rebate but the remaining cashback limit. |

Hence this 10K swipe might not earn full 5% rebate but the remaining cashback limit. justone give 5% only on friday, other day is 2%. he said he already swipe 5k, probably on other day (not friday), so he already get back 2% which is rm100. then he swipe another 10k (on friday) to get 5% so its rm500. he also said he swipe 10k only want free AF (since already swipe 5k). so he get max cashback and free AF usually people who use 'limited'/max/capped cashback cc, they will know/calculate regarding the cashback amount This post has been edited by erry-: Dec 19 2010, 01:50 PM |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Dec 19 2010, 01:50 PM) yeah winner. pls reply! if 5k get 5% means already get back rm250, and if: 10k also 5% then he can get rm350 only (even it is rm500). 10k is 2% then he get rm200 only (still have rm150). i think 5k is not on friday (2%, rm100) and 10k is on friday (5%, rm500) This post has been edited by erry-: Dec 19 2010, 02:23 PM |
