It seems like the classic, gold and platinum card promotion is the same.Any differences between the gold and platinum privileges. All the promotion seems to be same for platinum and gold.Mayb Cimb more focusing on their worldmastercard i guess. hmm.gif

I have to agree.
I think CIMB is trying to make WMC and VI more exclusive than Platinum. Anyway, it seems WMC entry requirement has been greatly reduced although the website did not announce it B&W.

Ya. I do have MBB Petronas visa gold since 08. Last month they do send me a Platinum MC. I call the SC they need to pay for the GST myself but with 3 yrs AF waive. Since this Platinum MC dun bring any benefit to me, so i seng bank to MBB to cancel it. Then Yesterday i got a call from MBB again. Now they offer a another AMEX gold charge card which will preload 10k MR point inside to offset the GST. The condition its i need to use the card at not less than RM50 then only they will credit the MR point to me.
*
It is a Charge Card. Think twice bro.

Nothing wrong with Charge Card.
There must be some facilities Charge Card can't offer but CC can. Instalment plan for example? I'm not sure.

I stil think it is better than none.
You may think you don't need to pay by installment, but for those who has tight cash flow, installment is very useful.

i dont think that there is person who have only charge card. coz not all place accept amex smile.gif

I know.
If that particular merchant offers 10x MR pts, but he/she has only Charge Card? Small amount nevermind, big amount is quite heartache. Swt.

choose 10x mr points then 3.5% or just 1 point but no %?  brows.gif

btw like i told previously, some places (in spore and medan) only accept visa. no mastercard, no amex. so really headache to pay if no cash and no visa  sweat.gif
*
Oh really. MC i have Ocbc Ti & DA. Visa I have SCB Business. Sometimes feel like wanna cancel DA but it has its own benefit which stop me to do so.

I like the design of SCB Plat MC, but Business Visa offers extra 0.5% rebate. What a dilemma.

Never heard of such promo frm PBB cards. Because my friends always grumbled over poor benefits of PBB cards. They rushed to OCBC Ti when I shared the news with them.

I'm afraid I am unable to accumulate that much points. Swt..
Last few months I went to Room18 Restaurant a few times, DA card helped me save RM70 (10% discount). Dragon-i's 20x Reward Pts is equivalent to 10% cashback as well. biggrin.gif

oh i though u swipe rm10k/year sweat.gif

but u can take that Room18 Restaurant discount to cover for the gst too. still save rm20.
not even calculate the rebates for petrol/giant/tesco yet!  brows.gif

I can't even max out my Ocbc Ti rebate capping.
DA MC is used mainly for Dining Privileges purpose. Petrol/Groceries I stil prefer OCBC Ti.

However, I don't mind to fork out RM50 to retain DA MC & SCB Business Plat as I manage to earn enough cashback from OCBC Ti.

MBB is convenient for payment since I have saving account and M2U with MBB. I don't have saving with CIMB and lazy to go to CDM. The availability of OCBC branches is pretty limited.

Judging from all the factors, MBB wins top of the my personal criteria even deals is not the best in the market but acceptable.

By the way, thanks for bringing up the comparison and I may have slip that out in the previous posts.

IMHO, since OCBC Ti cashback is so generous, it is just small matter to pay that IBG fee. Convenience of repayment cannot be an excuse anymore.

if u really want to swipe rm10k with 1 card, go for pbb esso/mobil (free for life).
it give 0.5% so swipe 10k u will get rm50 too, but this card rebate is unlimited!

or if more than 10k, go for pbb visa plat (free for life with conditions), >10k rebate is 0.55%.
other cashback card that offer rebate unlimited are cimb petronas (free for life) & std chartered buss plat (both 0.5%).

Add one more HL essential (unlimited 1% cashback) biggrin.gif
SCB launching "Spend RM4k and win a guaranteed gift and stand a chance to win iPad". iPad is abit difficult lar, but the guaranteed gift (Philips digital photo frame) is not bad.

1st, apologize coz i put petronas voucher rm10, it should be rm50notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

but, to redeem rm50 petronas u need 11000 tp.
to get 11000 tp, u need to swipe rm2200.

cimb, swipe rm2200 get rm44.
but, cimb swipe on 1st day is 5%.

if u swipe rm100 on 1st day, u already get back rm5.

so +/-, for me, cimb win smile.gif
*
If I recall correctly, MBB Petronas gets 10X TP on first day of the month. That means a swipe of RM100 gets 1,000 pts, equivalent to RM4.54, still OK not too bad.

Hmm for CC replacement due to faulty chip, how can we talk to them and convince them the chip is faulty? As mine sometime works sometime don't...
My card is Amex Gold CC... 75% of the chip is rusted with dark brown color now...

Regarding chip problem, I think Citibank is very concerned.
Because every year when I requested fee waiver, the CS sure ask me "Is the card in good condition?".

I'm not sure how fast new card is issued.
Last October is my Citibank Shell card's expiry date, they sent me new card even before expiry.
I got it waived but still I cancelled it already.
