I cancelled my mum's DA supp card and turned to OCBC Ti.
I am not able to maximize rm50 cashback, so hopefully my mum could help on it. |

QUOTE(jonuslee @ Jan 5 2011, 01:45 AM) Guys, i want to ask that does any maybank visa petronas CC user pay GST once their card activated? But when i check my online account since i have maybank account, it shows the credit card number as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-number and there is no statement balance of RM50.00 of the GST. But Under the account it say payment Due 03-01-2011 and statement date 14 december 2010. But when i want online pay the CC GST, it says the amount pay is more than the statement balance. Can i know what is going on?I collect my cc at Maybank branch. Can any maybank CC user share ur experience? Thanks If the statement balance is zero, why pay? This post has been edited by chemistry: Jan 5 2011, 01:55 AM |

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 5 2011, 01:56 AM) he afraid gst already being charged? perhaps that 3-year fee waiver was tailor-made for you as valued customer. ur statement balance is zero, means the gst is not charged yet. no need to pay anything. just wait statement of 14-jan, should have gst on it. then pay by 3-feb. btw, i'm using mbb normal (not petronas). its expired on oct last year. but maybank send new card 1 month before. my oct statement (28th), gst is being charged on 20-oct, then annual fee on 27-oct. then 8-nov waived back the annual fee (they offered me another 3 years free). (why not same date i also dont know) So, you will not need to call MBB for waiver until three years later. Glad to hear that. |

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 5 2011, 02:12 AM) yes no need to call until card expired. MBB cards do not offer very attractive benefits and privileges though. The only thing I like is its TreatsPoint Redemption Fair, where cardmembers get to redeem items with lower points at SenQ.previously also free for 3 years. then offer another 3 years. plus 10k tp to cover the gst. but plan to terminate it this year. not using it much ~ |

O.o Added on January 5, 2011, 9:57 am QUOTE(hAnn @ Jan 5 2011, 09:52 AM) i hav a question guys, how does a cc firm define 'groceries'? You must buy from the hypermarkets itself, not the shops inside hypermarkets.do they determine by products or the merchandiser selling them? scenario: i buy a water heater rm500 from tesco/giant/jusco, any 5% rebate incurred? besides, some Jusco are categorized as DEPARTMENTAL STORES which MCC code is not in 5% list. Anyway, you don't buy an item from hypermart just because of the rebate, do you? This post has been edited by chemistry: Jan 5 2011, 09:57 AM |

I learnt frm other forum that an OCBC cardmember was informed by OCBC CS that as long as cardmember settles the retail spending in full, then the BT amount will remain zero interest until the 1st day of 7th statement.
I think this kind of BT is better than those separate BT account which requires the cardmember to pay 5% minimum in order to continue enjoying 0% BT interest. |

QUOTE(roy918 @ Jan 5 2011, 04:13 PM) The T&C in the OCBC balance transfer form are contradicting itself. I do not see any contradiction between your statement and my statement just now.At the same of the balance transfer form (not T&C but just some note), it is stated payment will be allocated to purchase first before going to balance transfer. At the back of the form (which is T&C), it is stated clearly your payment will be allocated to previous month purchases before going to balance transfer and lastly to current month purchases. So, the CS might be wrong if OCBC system charging interest based on the T&C. May be we need someone who have done BT to OCBC to confirm this (I did BT to OCBC but have to wait another 2 statements to check out the interest). Yes, payment will firstly be allocated to retail spending then only BT. That said, your BT remain 0% as long as you settle retail purchase amount in full. So what's the contradiction? |

QUOTE(roy918 @ Jan 5 2011, 04:53 PM) Let me copy the T&C for reference. I do not see a word 'Balance transfer' from (a) to (f).Do note (see highlighted parts), the payment will be allocated to BT first before CURRENT MONTH purchases. If you are talking one doesn't settle previous statement outstanding purchases, then you are right. |

Let's not argue the statement anymore. I've already consulted three CS in a day regarding the same issue. All replies from CS are the same.
Even my sister also settled retail purchase only, never heard of her complaint about interest charge. She'll never pay interest except homeloan and auto loan. |

QUOTE(roy918 @ Jan 5 2011, 05:36 PM) Alright, just some discussion to find out what those T&C mean. In my opinion, OCBC BT is 'slightly' better than CIMB BT. Not only because of no need pay 5%, but also without early exit fee. You may fully settle the BT at any time you like within the BT period. So, OCBC BT is as good as CIMB separated account BT. |

QUOTE(winner @ Jan 6 2011, 07:46 AM) An important thing to note that CIMB accepts BT amount up to 100% of the available CL of your CIMB cc, whereas OCBC only allows 60% of your available CL. Thanks for the reminder. To me, 60% CL of my OCBC Ti is already quite sufficient to do BT. QUOTE(TeraPox @ Jan 6 2011, 08:04 AM) which banks in Malaysia do issue Black Cards? |

QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 6 2011, 02:22 PM) haha got it got it If you think you can earn much much more than the GST, go ahead.so i should re-apply the visa plat? But you might need to visit cinema very often to make offer QUOTE(hye @ Jan 6 2011, 02:37 PM) My prediction is that petrol rebate would not be sustainable by the cc providers in the long run. Petrol prices looks to go up again in the short to medium term. Agree. OCBC Ti must have started to feel the heat QUOTE(erry- @ Jan 6 2011, 02:41 PM) except for the co-brand card like cimb-petronas, pbb-esso/mobil, citibank-shell, etc. Most of these cards' rebate rate is at around 2%, perhaps the banks are still able to hold it.coz if they also terminate the fuel rebates, then the card also need to terminate |
