QUOTE(yuhank @ Dec 10 2010, 11:50 AM) Yangxi 1055 got can support internal hdd? Added on December 10, 2010, 11:51 am1080p is important 1080p H264 mkv?? I think WDTV Live(Sigma chipset) still best...it has none of the playback issues when playing high reframe files, inherent to Realtek chipset....I have 1.5TB of HD mkv...all plays perfectly....my friend with an ACRYAN (realtek), still have some issues with high reframed files. But WDTV Live no RMVB support...unless you stream from PC and transcode on PC..then u still can watch transcoded RMVB.

QUOTE(yuhank @ Dec 10 2010, 12:15 PM) wdlive need external. Parents want simple to use. No need turn on so many things. ie have to turn on media player + the external usb ..... they might get confused.... lol Leaning towards HDPro mini+ (can support 2.5" drive) Err...there is no power needed for external 2.5" hard disk. If it's 3.5", then u need the extra power.

Added on December 10, 2010, 3:32 pmQUOTE(vikashshah @ Dec 10 2010, 12:54 PM) I suggest use the 3.5" hdd and hook it to your PC which will act as a server 24/7 Share the entire disk on the network WDTV Live - RM 300 Wireless N Adapter - Max RM 100 Done But u must keep the server on... Actually, the Wireless N-150 adaptor for WDTV Live...only RM29 for the Aztech model...i bought one for RM 19 during promotion. This post has been edited by Matrix: Dec 10 2010, 03:32 PM

QUOTE(yuhank @ Dec 10 2010, 03:03 PM) Cannot connect the unit to PC and then transfer from the PC to the media player? Sure can...but very mah fan..imagine...everytime need to unplug HDMI cable, power cable, optical/coaxial cable etc to copy files...sooner or later, the connection will get loose due to wear and tear... Better buy external hard disk...copy from PC, bring to friend's house to copy etc, come back straight can watch. Only need to plug USB which is quiet tolerant to wear and tear.
