Probably he can't afford. He's just showing his frustration. Let it be.
Why do you need to waste your precious time, money and resources to burn. Sources of cheap & affordable High Definition movies are here in LYN itself. Get a proper BD player and get yourself a HT in order to enjoy your Blu-ray movies. If no HT, no problem, still can enchoyyyyyy...
in some ways, he does have a point...
over here, we do
- discuss the titles we bought or are gonna buy from Amazon or other sites
- get excited about it being delivered
- get frustrated when it's not
- some of us want collectibles found in some BD packages
- we (well, ok.. I speak for myself) sure do enjoy opening each case and looking at some of those contents and booklets and reading the back of the cases even at times (even though it's mostly rubbish except for my Digital Copy serial number

)
- we do (well.. me again la probably) load and play the disc enjoying true HD (that's HD video and HD audio)
Speaking of which, I do have a cover flow system on my Mac Mini at home as well...
To add something which someone else said...

Some people likes to collect junk
He's got a point as well...
I remember collecting VHS, VCD and then DVD when I was young (totally skipped that Laser Disc era due to financial constraints). I still have my Star Wars VHS collection at some friend's place who borrowed it and never returned it, and the Star Wars DVD collector's box set lying around somewhere and I just recently dumped 3 container boxes worth of DVDs because I was doing spring cleaning, moving house and also moving on to Blu Ray.

I'm still keeping my 2 boxes worth of Ori games though
Now, I'm praying that there's no HD2 or HD4 because in the end, I'm probably gonna end up... oh well...
