Thanks! I received my grains today. I hope it will help me with my digestion issues. I am going to try giving kefir to my dogs as I heard that it will help with their allergies and skin problems.

Hey~ Just want to let u know i took a long break from making kefir so i put them in some milk and put them in the freezer for more than 6 months! Guess what? I took them out and changed the milk for about 3 times and they are back to work! They really last! I did not expect them to still survive after so long but looks like they are indestructible~! Go kefir!

Hi, would like to try kefir. Just wondering if I only want to drink a cup a week, is there any way to slow the process and not buy a new cup of milk everyday to feed the grain? Like cultivating it in the fridge? as I cannot consume so much. Please pm me the instructions too. Thank you!

Hi!

Thank you for your interest.

Please bear in mind that the milk must be consumed within 3 days once opened. So if you only want to consume 1 cup of kefir per week it would be advisable to freeze the rest of the milk in the carton. Another point to consider is that it may be too little for you to see any benefits; even vitamins need to be taken every day.

Kefir grains can be stored in the fridge for a week or so when you wish to take a break from culturing kefir.

Let me know if you are still interested.

Are pasturized milk the ones sold in supermarkets as fresh milk? Any brand recommended? If I store the kefir grains in the fridge does it need to be in milk? Just worried about the fat content of consuming too much milk as it would be full cream milk.

Yes, they are the ones in the chiller; fresh milk or just full cream milk.

Kefir grains can be stored in the fridge in an equal amount of milk to just cover the grains.

If you are worried about the fat content you could use low fat milk but the kefir produced will be thinner. Other types of milk like coconut milk, soya milk, etc can also be used to culture the kefir but they must be revitalised with mammalian milk once every week.

Google and check out more about kefir if you are in doubt; take your time.

Hi, I have decided to get the kefir grains from you. Can u pm me ur account details and when will u send out the grains? I'll need to prepare the milk beforehand.

Please send me the instructions on brewing kefir too and also how to store the grains for long term backup as this will be my first time making them.

How much do u recommend to drink a week to see benefits and what brand of fresh milk do u use?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance. smile.gif
