Hmm, i was told by 123 i can get a mulstisim @ RM25. But i was not told i have to pay a monthly charges of RM15?

Went to Maxis ask about this last Friday. Was told that the Multisim is not stable. Not recommended. I guess they just want us to subscribe more line.

But one thing concern me most was they told me that multisim is a mobile package not broadband package. So since there isn't a unlimited package now, if the usage more than the package limit, it will be charged as per the mobile data pay per use rate, which I think if the usage is a lot, it will cause a bom in bill.

Yeah it will only work if you are ALREADY on a unlimited data plan.

So in actual fact, they just want you to subscribe to another Data plan

I guess I will just go and tell them I want a multi sim for my ivalue number, without telling them it is for ipad

So anyone can confirm it's safe to use the multi sim in our iPads? Maxis guys said no data sharing from primary line and Internet / 3G charges still apply. I have the unlimited data plan on my principle line though, and I insisted in taking the multi sim yesterday.

Yup, Wise information ...Just mention need multisim and if they give u big sim card..just cut it to micro-sim , if u menton wanna share data in ipad..the joker will had plenty of reason for you

So in other words, since I got the micro sim, I can just go ahead and use it without worries? They cakap a lot of garbage yesterday and took me 2 hours just to get the sim lol. Cuz I saw a thread here in the forum, got a guy used multi sim, his bill racked up to RM2800+

i remember going to Maxis Centre Sunway Pyramid as well. they said you cannot share the data with the 2 multi sims, you can only use your data on one sim or something along those lines. which is pissing off coz the customer service say can

so how many of you applied for the multi sim recently?

Yes, this is very confusing. My plan is iValue, but I got a friend to add the RM99 unlimited data plan for me before he left Maxis

So now, they said I can't share my data to my secondary multi sim as my plan is iValue, and the secondary sim will be pay per use. So I need to know, whether the data usage will reflect on your unbilled amount? Cuz I used only 25mb yesterday to check mails and don't want an additional RM200+ in my bill later.

So far I don't see any additional charges on my unbilled amount, and I took the secondary sim out from my iPad. Will data usage be charged later instead?

I went for the cheaper route... UMobile Prepaid with unlimited 3G for my iPad 3G. Only 28 per month but limit is 500MB. After that, slow like shit. Then again, I only use the iPad when outside the office or house. So, 500MB is more than enough. Backup is my Android phone with Maxis RM 99 unlimited 3G - tether as hotspot. Hardly even use unless super emergency. Forget DiGi. Even if u haven't hit the 1GB limit, it is super slow and most of the time, connects at EDGE.

acbc, can you share where you usually hang out? I'm looking for a prepaid plan for my iPad as well.

if you apply multisim with your Maxis RM99 unlimited 3g, the cost is only rm15 per month. Isnt it gonna be cheaper than your RM28 per month?

Ive been using secondary multisim for my ipad 2 and primary is for iphone 4 for few months..so far havent encountered bill shock yet

I'm "testing water" with the multisim currently.. try use a bit bit and see if my unbilled amount shows (since the call center person said that it will reflect since it's pay per use) but so far like don't have. Previously I had the unlimited data plan till I got the iPhone 4.

So I got my friend to add it back in as an add-on.. maybe that's why it's different when it comes to multisim since I "might" be trying to share my iValue's data instead.. and those Maxis call center people said, no data sharing on iValue plan. Really WTF la.. I got more hair now, everyday worry about this..

How do you guys topup then? need to activate as well right? I dont have an iphone to do all that (if it requires you to use a the micro sim to do it on an iphone)

Was thinking of whats is the best (or the only) prepaid data plan for my ipad.. i mean, one simcard that can stuck there and need not to open and re-open for topup and activation..

For iPad1 3G, u need to JB it and install SwirlySMS Free. To top up, simply purchase the top-up coupon from 7 Eleven and key in the code and SMS it. Works for me.

However, this won't work on iPad2 yet since no JB solution.

Added on June 4, 2011, 8:28 pmYes. Only with Maxis Business plan. U can register using a sole prop company and enjoy cheaper rates when calling. The catch? U need a min of 3 lines of RM 50 (called VP50). U then select RM 99 Unlimited Internet for any of the 3 lines (either 1 only). Total u need to pay every month is around RM 160+. Ain't worth it as it is a 2 year contract.

Might as well get Maxis VP30 (RM 30 commitment per month) and uMobile Prepaid 3G for RM 28 month. Total u need to spend is RM 60+. Once u hit the 500MB limit, connection will drop to 64Kbps which is damn slow but acceptable for emails.

Is your plan an iValue plan?
Do you get charge RM15 per month just for the second sim?

One thing good about UMobile RM28 is cos its a PREPAID, you dont need to pay every month if u dont wanna use for that month. For the Maxis u need pay additional RM15 no matter if u are using or not

Not only that, u still need to pay RM 68, 88 or 99 per month on the primary line whether u use it or not. What a waste!
