Well, TNB is still forced to carry the burden of retails cost and with soaring energy material prices.

It will likely be this low for the foreseeable future.

👀. Hopefully it won't bite me in the ass in the long term 😆

Personally I'm keeping onto mine until the losses on the share prices themselves have lessened 😂 IMO tho if willing to hold long term it's still a solid dividend stock, at least until gov decides to break the energy monopoly lol

Every $1bn profit tenaga made costed consumers >$1bn. unless gdp growth faster than tenaga profit, consumers spending is reduced.

Same. But might transfer to other investments once dividend paid has already covered the paper loss and then some. 👀

TNB should speed up installing of solar panels on people's homes. Many people are interested but it is their marketing and execution that is lacking. Price also could make it cheaper.
This alone can bring in so much free power for Malaysia.
Excess power during daytime can be saved also for use during the night.

My father in law installed this on his home via TNB's contractor, will help offset some electricity bills while at the same time harvesting power for TNB side.

those interested can read more here:

In term of cost after taking account of solar panel, battery and maintenance cost, solar power is not cheaper than coal fired power.

Sun light is free, but solar panel cost a lot.
It is not a free power.

That's a reason why home solar panel adoption is slow.

hopefully cheaper and more advance technology in the future will make solar power more accessible.

The main hurdle is cost of installation and maintenance.

If sufficient market demand + supply of parts/materials have no shortage, then cost will eventually go down, especially with advancements in technology that will make more efficient, cheaper units.

Yep, cost and maintenance.

Tech is advancing but will not lower price yet as it requires special materials.

For now, lets just hope for fusion. Haha, will take another decade.

In Msia, add the cost of corruption to that too. Nothing is done in a cost effective manner here.

For dividends yes but for stock growth no 🤦‍♀️ because as long as oil price is high and govt is cutting their subsidies to TNB expect the share the go downhill now

The only catalyst is that their renewables division GSparx is ramping up and targeting industries but you need to take a look at their bottomline before deciding

I expect to go down until low 8 and mostly like govt funds will start buying from there if they have any dry powder after Raya and state elections

Oil price not high as last time already.
Where you get the news govt cutting their subsidies?
What i know is there will still be ICPT and govt target to remove electricity subsidy for big corporations.

Oil price hasn’t started to peak after this year cuts wait till June then you will know 🤦‍♀️ as airlines now calculating air surcharges for the summer season

ICPT will be start reducing particularly changing to targetted subsidies rather than the current widespread subsidies for households

You wait next month after the Cabinet meeting for that announcement come due in Mid May
