Government mulls cutting rooftop solar prices to ease grid overload
By Dat Nguyen  March 12, 2021 | 03:00 pm GMT+7
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering cutting the prices paid for rooftop solar by 30 percent to slow down its development amid concerns of grid overload.
It plans to cut the feed-in tariffs from 8.38 U.S. cents per kilowatt-hour to 5.2-5.8 cents, with lower prices for commercial projects and higher prices for households.
The ministry will also limit the power they can sell to the government to ease the pressure on the transmission lines.

It depends on the price after ex date. Will it go down further or go up.

If you top up now and the price go down further after ex date then you will lose your initial investment by the drop amount.

I am reinvesting the dividends so doesn't matter to me in the long term.

May I know how to do reinvesting the dividend? I’m newbie here 😄

Instead of spending your dividends.
When you get your dividend form tenaga. Then just buy back tenaga stocks or other stock as you see fit. 👀

Thus the term reinvest dividend means 'To invest again your dividends'.

I see, for example what if the price is RM11.40 after ex date by topping up at this amount will increase average price.

It is up to you to buy tenaga or other stocks. As for me I will continue to reinvest my dividend regardless of price for now.

Doing this for long term so don't mind about it 👍

I sold mine at 10.2... only earned a bit and earned dividend...
Waiting drop to 9.5 and collect, still have plenty time to go before Sep
Would prefer keep cash on hand to see any other opportunity

Tenaga and Bat are good dividend stocks. Don't expect much capital appreciation in long term and don't bother too much with short term volatility

I wish there isn't that pesky min 1 lot rule in most IB. The dividends I receive from TNB is too little to reinvest due to TNB's relatively high price per share. I need to wait 2 or 3 years only then I can accumulate enough to reinvest

Just top up the difference. I guess, I do that until I got enough per dividend received

Yes I should sell at least half before ex date at 10.8+. This was my plan but unluckily I didn’t execute it. And after that keep dragging and end up sell at 10.20 when I need cash to buy other stocks.
Like I mentioned there are still months to go... I will just wait patiently.

with MCO 3.0, not sure what will happen. I mean how low it will reach. Wish it wouldn't be lower than last november's resistance level.
