QUOTE(stevenlee @ Sep 16 2018, 05:57 AM) Seems okay wor... Should I had taken the 4k screen instead.. Orz I went for the rose gold i7, 256gb,8gb ram... QUOTE(tachlio @ Sep 16 2018, 10:04 AM) If you professional photographer who edit Premier Pro + Lightroom together, then may not sufficient... I seldom take videos.. Just some times wanna edit photos with light room a bit here and there.. So.. Doubt will touch premier pro.. Feel like maybe 2years time, I'll need to change laptop dy... FmlIf only occasional user like me, 8gb is good enough for lightroom alone This post has been edited by eugenelimys: Sep 16 2018, 11:58 AM |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Sep 16 2018, 05:36 PM) I own a first gen XPS 13. 8GB RAM, 5th gen i7, 256GB SSD. 4 years old, going on to 5 years now. Ohh cool.. Hopefully mine could last this long too haha...Still works like a charm. Even after all the abuse i put it through. Only issue I had was the battery (cause of the abuse), but that can be changed I guess. After changing I was getting like 8 - 10+ hours battery life again. I use it mainly for browsing internet, FB, Youtube, watching movies, Spotify, etc. I also occasionally do some light gaming like CS GO (with lower graphics), Starcraft 2, FM 2018, etc. So far, OK lar, this lappie not meant for gamer or hardcore workstation stuff, but it gets the basics done and done very well. I thought all FHD versions are matte? I remember the glossy screens are touch screen models which are all QHD models. QUOTE(stevenlee @ Sep 16 2018, 10:04 PM) Mine is FHD.. i did not take 4K cos I need longer battery if you go 4k I think you cant do light gaming dy haha.. Tho, just curious.. how long did the battery last you? you use your power bank to charge your laptop? I dont mind bringing the adapter everywhere i go tbh.. ( maybe I should had opted for the 4k ver. ? but just terribly worried that it wont last me 5 hours in classroom of nonstop spotify and coding)I don’t like bring power cable when going out coffee shop.. I only bring one power bank.. I scare 4K drain too much battery and my power bank might not last me for a day when I outing I search review in YouTube before, I heard from YouTube say they discontinue matte FHD. They use glossy FHD with some matte coating at outer layer.. It was not that glossy as previous 4K model. |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Sep 17 2018, 10:44 PM) Haha, you just got to know what you want and discipline to take care of the laptop lar. To be honest, go to a showroom and try out the laptop yourself. Look at it, touch it, use it, carry it. That's the most important thing. One thing to note. There is a bit of fan noise, when you max out the processor (which isn't often for me), btw, but since I use earphones all the time, I rarely notice. Some people find it a deal breaker though. I never actually know there's a dell showroom around tbh.. I live in Penang and never know it existed.. Rip meAs for gaming, actually it is better not to go for 4K cause that is even more demanding on the graphics which is already limited in an ultrabook form factor. Better to stick to FHD. Laptop is arriving tomorrow.. Ordered the rose gold ver 9370.. Hope it looks sweet haha.. Now hope it doesn't look weird or girly on a guy haha.. If it does, I'll just order a skin from dbrand and slap it on |

QUOTE(stevenlee @ Sep 17 2018, 06:43 PM) basically now day all accessories should hv USB-C Ohh cool.. Ill probably just stick to stardew valley only hahaha.. Or games similar to it..USB C external drive, USB C LCD monitor, USB C to HDMI monitor, USB C external DVD Drive, USB C pen drive, USB C phone cable for android and iOS and many more.. all already available... just you need change new cable or get new stuff. no need dongle if you only hv 1 usb C like macbook 12. basically last me over 12-14 hours base on normal surfing, youtubing and excel.. if on gaming, and full power, only last 4-5 hours Hmm.. Maybe if use 4k screen, I think at most 8-9 hours like that for normal surfing I think.. Haha.. 4k gaming confirm 1-2 hours liao like that hahaha.. |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Sep 18 2018, 11:38 PM) Oh, you're in Penang. I guess not all PC/IT shops will stock up on an XPS for demo unit. yea just received it this afternoon.. its better than expected, just a bit not used to it cuz I tend to use a 15" for a laptop, and this time decide to go for an even lighter and smaller laptop.. haha... still finding 8gb kinda like living at the edge.. haha.. All the best. It should be fine lar. Enjoy your new toy. I use Opera. But browsers these days eat RAM a lot lar. the rose gold looks really nice tho.. at most if sien dy, just slap a skin on it haha.. |
