I'm looking for 1TB now, even for that, the cheapest is Transcend so far at RM628 (w/o delivery) from Shopee.

ADATA is also quite cheap but still a bit expensive than Transcend.

I've got the screwdriver set with the plastic tweezers as well biggrin.gif

I think the ssd that you describe is too thick to be installed on XPS, install ok but the ssd will have a curve due to its thickness, I am using WD Blue SSD 1TB and it fits perfectly.

Check out Western Digital WD Blue 250GB / 500GB / 1TB 3D NAND Laptop M.2 SSD SATA 2280 for RM218.00. Get it on Shopee now! https://shopee.com.my/product/22669791/1001...532.?smtt=0.0.9

Thickness :
WD Blue - 2.8mm
Transcend - 3.58mm (this thickness seems like double sided ssd and not suitable for XPS 13)

user posted image

Left - XPS 13 original ssd
Right - example of double-sided 3.5 mm thickness ssd
You will bend the ssd when using double sided ssd....

Very good during first year accidental warranty, but I only call once to get my outer upper & lower casing replaced due to drop damage.
No question asked and the technician comes within 2 days to replace the parts.

I only have positive experience with them in and out of warranty, so it's good all the way.
If you do have extra money to spend, do go for extended coverage (IINM it can go up to 5 years from purchase), worth it for peace of mind, especially for accidental damages.

Can this be purchased separately like Macbook Applecare (Purchase and apply on the 10th or 11th month) or it must be configured at the time of purchase?

There are some difference (not sure if it applies now).

When bought upon purchase, there will be option to add accidental damage coverage for the extension period as well.
You can also re-activate a lapsed warranty cover but it will only cover normal issues but not accidental damages.

Do check Dell website and you can email to them (pretty quick to respond) on enquiry regarding the coverage.

I just checked with their support team. They replied all warranty options must be configured at the time of purchase. Can't do like AppleCare. sad.gif
