Wow, that's really glossy. Looks like they really discontinued the matte FHD screens for this generation. Mine is more like your Dell monitor.

Bro, yours is FHD or UHD? Cos the UHD has always been very glossy and reflective. But if the FHD has gone the same way, I
may have to rethink my decision as I do work outdoors a bit bangwall.gif

Mine is FHD.. i did not take 4K cos I need longer battery
I don’t like bring power cable when going out coffee shop..
I only bring one power bank..
I scare 4K drain too much battery and my power bank might not last me for a day when I outing

I search review in YouTube before, I heard from YouTube say they discontinue matte FHD.
They use glossy FHD with some matte coating at outer layer..
It was not that glossy as previous 4K model.

Thanks, bro! Just read that Dell has added the Gorilla Glass protection layer on the 9370 FHD screen which explains the
glossy finish. So even with the AG coating, it's going to be quite glossy and reflective though not as much as the Spectre
range from HP.

one thing i like about dell is it warranty.
if you device over warranty, you can buy the warranty to cover again.
the warranty sometime very cheap.
3 years back, i buy before for my XPS 15 first gen, for only RM110.

currently looking for mouse, thunderbolt cable and thunder bolt laptop dock for my Dell.
what i hv in mind for mouse is Logitect MX Anywhere 2, Belkin Thunderbolt 3 and Dell TB15.
probably only get it after i sell my current monitor and get new Dell 2417HC with USB C PD LCD Monitor.

The hardware is moving more and more towards an all USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 approach from Asus, Dell and HP especially with the newer
ultrabooks. But we have yet to see proper support from peripheral manufacturers for USB-C based accessories which means we'll be stuck
with Dongle-Life for a while more.

I own a first gen XPS 13. 8GB RAM, 5th gen i7, 256GB SSD. 4 years old, going on to 5 years now.

Still works like a charm. Even after all the abuse i put it through. Only issue I had was the battery (cause of the abuse), but that can be changed I guess. After changing I was getting like 8 - 10+ hours battery life again. wub.gif

I use it mainly for browsing internet, FB, Youtube, watching movies, Spotify, etc. I also occasionally do some light gaming like CS GO (with lower graphics), Starcraft 2, FM 2018, etc. So far, OK lar, this lappie not meant for gamer or hardcore workstation stuff, but it gets the basics done and done very well.
I thought all FHD versions are matte? I remember the glossy screens are touch screen models which are all QHD models.

Ohh cool.. Hopefully mine could last this long too haha...

if you go 4k I think you cant do light gaming dy haha.. Tho, just curious.. how long did the battery last you? you use your power bank to charge your laptop? I dont mind bringing the adapter everywhere i go tbh.. ( maybe I should had opted for the 4k ver. ? but just terribly worried that it wont last me 5 hours in classroom of nonstop spotify and coding)

Tbh not gaming la bro.. Just want a light and portable laptop that can do some editing.. But also worried can't last.. Cuz this laptop freaking pricey haha

Hoping too much maybe? Haiz.. If dell malaysia offers 16gb 1080p, this is gonna be perfect..
*
Yes 8gb is really basic nowaday, and i dont plan to upgrade.

FYI, I do game on my XPS >> witcher 3, Tomb Rider & war of shadow.
Do take note, few trick is MUST for XPS to play such game >> UV(CPU & GCU), Repaste etc and dont expect FHD at 60FPS always.
XPS is not mean for game.

I open 10+ chrome tap + lightroom together is no issue with 8gb as well. Always know your limit and shut down some app if dont use, else get XPS15 for upgrade

Haven't seen a good wireless mouse with USB-C interface yet (unless BT), bro! There are a few on eBay and Amazon but quality is so-so. Of course the other
way is to get a good all-in-one USB-C hub like the Dell DA300 and be done with it la ... blush.gif

don't like dongle even though I plan to hv Dell TB15 on my desk.
currently, I using normal BT Mouse. I change my external SSD drive cable (USB B to USB C) and change all my phone cable usb C to lightning and micro USB.
I also just sold my monitor and change to Dell P2419HC where come with USB C PD.
with that, I can plug all USB A device to my monitor.

Haha, you just got to know what you want and discipline to take care of the laptop lar. To be honest, go to a showroom and try out the laptop yourself. Look at it, touch it, use it, carry it. That's the most important thing. One thing to note. There is a bit of fan noise, when you max out the processor (which isn't often for me), btw, but since I use earphones all the time, I rarely notice. Some people find it a deal breaker though.

As for gaming, actually it is better not to go for 4K cause that is even more demanding on the graphics which is already limited in an ultrabook form factor. Better to stick to FHD.

The backlit is not one light per key like MacBook
Thus you will feel the key is not properly light up.
