lol, you mean 50 and 45fps?

Overexaggeration on my part biggrin.gif

True story though. Happened to me during my campus days. I had an old PC (VIA chipset motherboard, AMD Athlon XP, Radeon 9600) once. My favorite game at the time would be Oblivion, playing at around 30-40 fps.
It so happens that one day my motherboard decided to give up on me, and being the cheapskate I was, opted for the cheapest motherboard available. Got myself a new one (SiS chipset motherboard) for around RM200, plugged the same CPU and GPU in.
And with this new motherboard, Oblivion was running at 5-10 fps. I was like shocking.gif

In the end, I returned the motherboard and topped up another RM100 to get an NForce chipset motherboard, which gave me around the same fps in Oblivion as the VIA chipset motherboard did. sweat.gif

You sure about this? I've been testing out a Gigabyte X58A-UD7 and a normal M-ATX board and i don't see any difference in terms of FPS.

Just straight away go for GTX460, it will lasts you for very long time since you just focus on WoW mainly.

If 2.5k-3k budget, consider this spec, should be sufficient for you for 3 years.

i7-870 - RM920
Asus P7P55 LX - RM365
Kingston DDR3 2GB x 2 - RM77 x 2
Samsung DVD-RW 22x - RM63
Samsung 1TB F3 - RM169
CM Elite series - RM139
Silverstone True Power 500W - RM229
Asus GTX460 Top Edition 1GB - RM729

Total RM2768.

FPS drops with GTX460 is either by CPU bottlenecking, other than that i don't know, a friend of mine that bought his system from me with i5 + gtx460 getting 100+ fps most of the time during heavy raids, so i dunno, source/link as currylaksa requested to avoid more doubts. smile.gif

This is what I'm getting TOMORROW. It fits your budget nicely (below RM3k) and will work wonders in WoW.

CPU : Intel i5 760 2.8GHz
RAM : Kingston DDR3 1333MHz 2 x 2GB (value RAM) (total 4GB)
Hard Drive : 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black
Motherboard : Asus P7P55 LX
Graphics Card : EVGA nVidia GTX 460 1GB
Network Card : D-Link WiFi-N PCI Adapter 150Mbps
PSU : Cooler Master Extreme 550w
Casing : Thermaltake v3 Black Edition

Total = RM2.4k

The other RM600 you can look around for a very good monitor. Mine is a Dell U2311H and costs only RM630 http://www1.ap.dell.com/my/en/business/mon...s=bsd&cs=mybsd1
It's an IPS panel so that's why it costs a bit more than other TFT monitors.
Of course, you can get much cheaper monitors and most people can't even see the difference in quality anyway, so anything from Dell is usually a very good choice.

Total budget RM2.8K~ depending on your monitor choice.

^
Guess you might need to get a true power instead of extreme, for better power output.

For RM250 more expensive it's NOT worth the money. Also, 6870 runs quite a bit hotter that the 460, and I do not trust ATi drivers AT ALL. All my experience with ATi drivers have been bad.

460 1GB I can get for RM640, 6870 is almost RM800. Big price difference for minor performance difference. In WoW, the difference between the 2 cards is THREE FPS. smile.gif

Never gonna go ATi unless they fix their driver problems. To me, 460 and 6870 have almost no difference in performance, unless you play on a 30" monitor at 2560x1600, which I don't. I game at 1920x1080 so both these cards are equal in performance. Also, I trust nVidia drivers much much more too smile.gif
