Hey all,

I will be a new student in Taylor's University next february.
Would love to ask you all from Taylor's University about which place is the most recommended accommodation for me beside the on-campus hostel?
Thank you.

P/S: I have posted my question in taylor's University thread but i did not get any reply...
So, I have started a new topic.

Anyone here stayed in the on campus hostel before?
How's it? Good or bad?

If u mean Taylor Lakeside then the nearest one would be the houses nearby which is quite expensive, the cheaper option is where I'm living now, Lagoon Perdana Apartment.

Yea, I'm now looking for the houses nearby but they're quite expensive, above 600 for a small single room! ):

if u talking about the SS15 Taylor UniCollege, then there ALOT of house, room, apartment for rent, go to LYN's classified section and u can find alot of places to rent too.

No, i am talking bout lakeside.

As for Mentari court, not a good place, its far(unless u got car) and filled with foreigner..

don't think will go for cheap but unsafe accommodation. Safety first. (:

my recommendation is to go personally to SS15, Subang Jaya where Taylor's College is situated and find accommodations there. There are more affordable options there and it's convenient with all the shops situated around the area. You can always take the shuttle bus that's available to go to Taylor's University for classes.

i am from kedah and not really convenient to go down to sunway...
now i'm bargaining thru the internet. ):

U mean mentari court? Where it used to be accomodation for the old PJ campus?

Added on December 8, 2010, 10:27 amactually i surveyed the lakeside campus last year when it was still in building stage..there is a nearby taman, where i saw many houses for rent.. i think there is a low-cost flat there as well? it should be cheap but u have to worry security matters (robbery, theft, etc.) because u r staying in public area
*
I am searching for the rooms near that area as well..
but very limited choices available.

You may consider Suriamas/Ridzuan

- More frequent bus shuttle to Lakeside campus.
- Closer to Sunway Pyramid for shopping and recreation.

Lakeside Surrounding Areas:
Pros - Proximity to campus
Cons - Relatively isolated to campus facilities.

SS15:
Pros - Proximity and endless food choices.
Cons - Further from Lakeside. Bus shuttle less frequent(refer to Inter-Campus Bus Schedule Booklet)

Hope that helped. smile.gif

yea thank you for the reply...
my friend told me that it's difficult to find foods nearby pjs7 ):

so u gonna study at lakeside campus? and u want cheap place and near?
my best recommendation is Lagoon Perdana Apartment..
small room ranges from RM200~RM300
middle room ranges from RM250~RM400
master room ranges from RM300~RM400
the whole unit ranges from RM650~RM1000

price difference normally caused by unit condition, furnished or unfurnished, air cond or not etc..
the mgt is currently tightening the security, access card not only for cars, even human need them to enter.

Well I know all these cuz I'm renting here too, a student as well..

Lagoon Perdana is near to Sunway UC right?
Which means i will need to drive to the campus?

isn't it called Lagoon Perdana Apartment?

I think it's mutiara instead of lagoon.
Lagoon Perdana is the one near to monash and sunway uc.

u can find other place such as indah villa. nearer to sunway uc though

Still rent is exp all over the area you mentioned.

Thanks for the reply.
I dun plan to drive to the campus.
Not gonna wish to waste time to search a parking slot which is far away.

Lagoon Perdana is across the highway(LDP) from Lakeside.
Yellow building with a hint of maroon here and there.
Visible when one approaches the Sunway-Puchong Toll
Unless Taylors pans on building an overhead bridge(crossing) or underground tunnel,
crossing over might be slightly challenging, let alone dangerous.

LagoonView is the one right next to Sunway University College or behind Sun-U Residence.

In terms of proximity, Mutiara Perdana is still the closest for an apartment.

Hope that helped smile.gif

I see.
How about houses in PJS 7/5 and 7/2?

Bro do you know what is the cheapest hotel in the sunway lagoon area???
*
No. >.<
I am finding one too coz i need to go down to Sunway someday to find rooms for my accommodation there.
The cheapest I can find is only summit hotel.
Sunway Hotel is too expensive.
Not affordable for a student. ):

Added on December 16, 2010, 12:58 amOMG it's hard to find a room near to lakeside campus!

If u need a clean hotel room with security and very affordable, try 3K, which is the community centre for subang jaya. The motel is beside the 3K  sporting facilities and at night it is very quiet there. In the event u need supper, A and W is just right besides it, and a short walk from the motel there are a few warungs. It is managed by Summit group, but the place is owned by Selangor state. I live nearby and sometimes I place my friends there as its quite safe.

You may use the swimming pool for free and parking is also free for customer.

The cheapest and most favoured condo is about 5 minute walk to Hartamas Campus, $600 for shared room. Room is furnished. You can get more details when you call up Taylor's Hartamas

Thank you so much for the sharing!
