i was told to add two layers of pellets for Haze everyday but this morning before work i refill his pellet bowl, he finished it in seconds.

should i split it into two meals?

and when i need to put him in the cage he run away sad.gif
*
Young rabbit usually eat a lot, because it's growing everyday. No need split to two meals, just let him eat. smile.gif

All animals doesn't like to be caged if they want to, its normal. You may have to carry him and put him inside the cage manually if there is no choice. Else, just let him roam free around your house. tongue.gif

but let him out, he go eat leaf sad.gif

Most leaves are ok with rabbits, but just becareful of wierd plants, flowers, pesticide sprayed plants, and bugs.

Rabbits love to exercise if their mood is good. And they'll binky around. They love big spaces to play! biggrin.gif

Sometimes either the male or female (or both) have problem with their reproduction system, even humans have it....

Toilet matter should be trained since small, once rabbit gets older they will not use toilet one...

But if they born baby also, you will be even more busier leh. 2 rabbits already can make you tired, more will make you more pening. In a way, luckily they didn't reproduce.

kazuki85:i dont agree.i only got rabbit toilet for them this year april.they used the toilet immediately without train (haha).

@Adele:i had my female rabbit since last year july, male rabbit since last year october.
*
Eh? Me blur blur...i tot you mention earlier that "the tiredness routine clean their poox2 & urine even i got rabbit toilet also"?

Actually, if you have good quality bedding like Woody Pets, Breeder Celect, or Beh&Yo's bedding (forget what name) you can clean up their pee in the toilet every 2 days once since they absorb pee smell very well.

I usually reach home at 9-10pm, but still find time with my Alvin, at least 30mins to an hour+. Thats the commitment of bringing a rabbit home...no matter how busy also I will not abandon him as I am committed to take care of him since the day I bring him back. Sounds crazy, but it's the promise I intend to keep for the rest of my life.

I don't actually treat my rabbit as a "pet" to play with, but more like a family member. So is my girlfriend and our families. biggrin.gif

But I assume you may have some personal matter/work to attend to, so you don't have time for your rabbits. Hope they are ok with the environment in the pet shop now. smile.gif

thumbs up!!  thumbup.gif

The name Alvin reminds me of alvin and the chipmunks! hoho. Does he respond to the name?
by the way,  kept indoors or outdoors without smell?

vincentwee: maybe not mature yet to mate?
*
Yes, cause he's a Chocolate otter Netherland dwarf and he looks like the Chipmunk in the movie biggrin.gif

And yes, he does responds to his name. smile.gif

kazuki85: i must change the bedding every day even not much poox2 or smell. i cannot tahan. must see it nice and clean (haha). so far i haven't reach to that level where treat them as own family. maybe that reason i can abandon them. but again many situation that prompts me abandon them. but im so lucky that pet shop willing to adopt them. if not, they already gone at the park. im sure a lot of bunnies out there might suffer bad fate when the "angin" of keep rabbit has gone or next year when no longer rabbit year.

@Adele: i think they had reach mature age where can have babies.female is 10 month, male is 8 month. male is smaller size than female. because i don breed rabbit for $, i don't really focus on breeding it. but is a good experience own rabbit. im quite surprise when i do trance at my rabbit in front of the pet shop owner. she don know what is trance. they only know about dogs and cats. as for rabbit, it is one of the source of income. they can easily sell many baby rabbits in single day. im quite shock.
*
You make me confused again...you seems like a clean person that cannot tahan dirty bedding, but yet find it difficult to clean up your rabbit's toilet everyday, and thats why you give them away? hmmm... rclxub.gif

So you mean you will dump your rabbit in the park if the pet shop not willing to take them eh? hmm.gif

Rabbit babies are easy to sell, but unfortunately they die easily too. I hope the pet shop learn a lesson not to sell babies, else karma will hit back and later all the customer will complaint to them "Why my baby rabbit die after 1 week??" vmad.gif

Can rare rabbits, BUT need to make sure they are 2 months old. Two months old rabbit are much tougher and can adapt to new place. Just make sure the temperature is ok, place is clean, and food/water ready available. smile.gif

I think he is simply not willing to commit his time/effort to care for a pet, or simply treating his rabbits as a regular animal, so no problem for him to throw away his rabbit like throwing away old clothes. I guess that is typical for Malaysians to do so, thats why so many stray dogs and cats around our neighborhood.... yawn.gif

From Beh&Yo. Check out their FB page here : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beh-Yo-Rabbi...162761207094107

Last time they sold direct to me, but now they use petshops to sell already. They have rabbits in PLC, Jjay Petstation, Petsmore (Tropicana, WangsaWalk Mall or 1 Utama). smile.gif

hi guys got question, my arnab suka kencing atas my tilam how to prevent dat? macam kucing i letak minyak gas then dia x kan berak tempat tu dah, if arnab how?
*
Need to train first, by putting him in a smaller place. See which spot he like to pee, and put a toilet there. After getting used to it, he will stick to the toilet most of the time. smile.gif

thanks smile.gif but some times he pee at his cage, just recently like my tilam when he sudah pandai lompat at my bed lol
*
lol, rabbits are like kids. Need to train/teach them what is right and what is wrong. Confine him and teach him to use toilet first. If he pee elsewhere, wipe the pee with tissue paper and put it into the toilet in front of him. Let him know that you want to train him to use toilet. smile.gif

Everybody got own opinion bro sweat.gif

Rex is cute in many ways, and their fur is no.1. Touch their fur and you can feel its more softer and silkier than any other rabbit breeds.

Dear all new Rabbit owners,

As a simple guideline, DO NOT WORRY if your rabbit at first doesn't like you to touch them. IT IS NORMAL.

Remember they are PREY animals. Other animals eat them in the wild. They need to be scared at strangers/things they don't know to protect themselves naturally. In the wild, one second late and they might end up eaten by a dog/ shot by a human. So they are naturally very aware and afraid of things they are not sure of.

So you cannot actually compare a dog/cat with a rabbit. Other domestic dog/cat owners can easily pet them, touch them, carry them without much hassle because they are PREDATOR animals. So it is different.

All I can say is, give time and space to your new rabbit to explore the area.

Rabbits DO NOT like forcing, they will think you are a dictator instead (lol).

You can guide your rabbit back to its cage by attracting them with food/water/treats. Usually a new rabbit will be scared to death if you try to carry them, so until they trust you fully it is better to bond with them first. You can try to bond with him/her like hand-feeding food/treats to him, cleaning up his/her house (to show that you care), petting him, etc.
