Hi there,

Am a new user here on the forums. Residing in malaysia currently on work contract. Currently facing rather frustrating issues with my connection to WoW.

Pre 4.0.3, I was able to raid in ICC 25, sitting at 300-350ms without tunnels. Once the patch was deployed, I wasn't able to stay connected in game upon combat in 25 mans. Anyone else encounter that issue?

Also, I was unable to stay online/connect to WoW today, Cata launch day. Was questing at Mt. Hyjal and the problem is still persisting. Log in, DC. Or high latency (10k ms region). I have tried with tunnels (lowerping) and without tunnels. I can't stay connected.

I am using Streamyx Broadband. Living in the north. Operating System, i7, Windows 7 computer. Riger router (given by Streamyx upon sign up).

If there is any other information you need me to provide in order to assist in solving this latency issue i'm facing, please do let me know. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Try running the launcher and make sure that your client is up to date. If your client is not up to date, the client will download game data while you are playing, which equals bad latency.

Other than that, tunneling services and wow go hand in hand in malaysia nowadays. You can't enjoy wow without one, simply put. You should invest in a good tunneling service to ensure maximum gaming performance and satisfaction. biggrin.gif

I do use tunnels. I have Lowerping subscribed. Client is also up to date.

Could be your location and type of Internet connection that is causing you to face that bad latency issues, or some one could be leaching your line.

According to the launcher info, your client may be continuously downloading game updates while you're playing.

1. Perform a traceroute to your server with Pingplotter. You can check your server IP here.
Don't worry if you see 100% packet losses in the second hop and the last few hops to the server. What you should be concerned about is if there are >40% packet losses in the hops between the second and the last hops. If you're seeing a lot of packet losses, you may need to file a complaint to TM. Provide traceroute screenshots for further action. Otherwise, if everything seems fine, you can proceed to the next step.

2. Clear your cache folder. Try disabling all your addons.
3. Open up your launcher, go to Downloader Options, make sure both options are unchecked.
4. Disable any antivirus programmes running in the background
5. Try running wow without lowerping. Chances are, your tunneling service could be the culprit

Probably just high volume of people playing in the server at the moment because of the new expansion.Prolly the latency will be like normal again in couple of days.

Just started at 4.0.3 patch. And thank you for the replies. I will do as advised and see how it goes and post my results here shortly.

I'm logged on the game at the moment today with 221ms. Everything seems ok for now. Will go ahead and trouble shoot as suggested.

Edit : Tested connections seems fine today. Still don't know why I get bad latency at ICC 25 mans tho. Few guildies of mine suffer from the same problem in combat at icc. We're on Nagrand realm and all 3 live in Malaysia. We tried with and without tunnels.

Added on December 14, 2010, 12:00 amLatency has gotten from bad to worse. I'm not exactly tech savvy but managed to ask around and someone has asked me to do a ping test.

This occurs every night btwn 9pm to 1am local time.

I have rung Streamyx customer service and lodged a report. But all they said was "we will open a report and ring you back in 72hours".

It's been more than a week. I've had no solutions.

Anyone able to lend a helping hand here? Thank you in advance.
