is it me or the last urgent on village quest , jhen moran is too easy? any chance i could dig out the jhen moran gem from the village quest? the armor looks cool. mr.bushido!!

errr guys,can you give me some tips for gemming tigrex armor?

jhen is easy lol keep killing him and you'll get what you need in no time

wat skills does tigrex armor give? how many slots do you have and what weapon are you using?

it gives autotracker,gourmand,earplugs and one more -1 protection will activates demonic blessing.only have 4 slot and im using jinouga long sword,switch between that and jhen long sword.thanks in advance

4 slot then i d recommend a low level skill, sword sharpener skill. need 5 slots tho so u need 1 slot from ur weapon.

actually if u only have 4 slots then u seriously need to go mining for necklaces.

but if you're lazy like me, just screw it and continue on the game. get to high rank as soon as possible

i am wearing a necklace,hahah.actually 4 slot was the armor only,if including my weapon and necklace total 6 slot,i am trying to get into high rank,having trouble repelling jhen at HR3 urgent -.-

ok, i think i do something weird with the monster(tigrex).
well i keep fighting tigrex, and he keep showing sign where he rage faster than usual when he weaken.
so i put the trap and throw 2 tranquilizer, it did not went to sleep( i though bumper i miscalculate).
I continue whack tigrex about 4 hit then it went to sleep

6 slots then go for sword sharpening skill, saves a lot of time lol

Hmm how do u get to use those vials for Switch Axe? I bring all of them yet I cant get to use them

or maybe u need to have the + strong attack vial or + poison vial skill before using it??
but so far i haven't seen any Melee armor have that skill.

well tigrex is in the trap, throw 2 tranq, didn't sleep. so i continue attack 4 more times. then u know the next story.
forget to mention he's in the trap

now i get it... Ho Ho HO....
im love to use GS to kill tigerex...is very fun....
especially solo....
just run to it back n charge.... 70% can hit the head with fully charge GS.....
for GS to kill tigerex...1st priority cut the tail off... then start hitting the head... u will also have chance to trim it nail at the meantime if you miss the hit to the head.

Just been a lurker now and then around here, but then i see this and no one here seem to actually know how it works, i can't let this misinformation go uncorrected. Switch Axe's phials/coating/vials, whichever you wanna call it is not the same as bow's coating at all.

Each switch axe's phial is FIXED, just like how a gunlance's shell type i.e. normal/long/spread types is FIXED for each gunlance. You don't go loading and changing gunlance's shells with bowgun bullets now do you?

The phial's effects only come into play when in sword mode, and your gauge depletes as you use sword mode. The gauge auto regens in axe mode and if it extremely low it says RELOAD you can press R in axe mode that will refill the gauge instead of switching to sword mode.

There's 6 types of phials:
power (boosts the raw)
element (boosts sa's innate element and status effect values)
poison, para, exhaust(deals ko if hit head and fatigues boss and makes em goes drool status like hammer), dragon(adds some dragon element)

Now for example the difference between SA with innate para attribute that has element phial and raw SA that has para phial, for the former you'll be doing para status attacks in both axe and sword mode but the para value is boosted more when in sword mode. For the latter tho, you'll only be doing raw damage when in axe and does para in sword.

In general, an elemental SA will either comes with power or element phial, status ones comes with element phial and raw ones can come with any one of em cept for element.

A noteworthy early SA, the yukumo lookalike one that is made from red ticket given to you by the elder, it comes with very long green bar and good raw and has dragon coating. It's probably one of the easiest and earliest way to get some dragon element weapon for dragon weak stuff.
