Competency Based Questions:
Think of a situation and describe you're in difficult situation? how you handle it?What have you learn? (Building rapport)
Think of a problem you faced and how you solve it? What have you learn? (capability)
Think of a situation when you involved in group activities and how you lead them like project handling/Extra- cocurricular activities? (leadership)

Case Studies:
offered a few topic, choose one, ask you to comment about the topic. talk about 30 mins. They are more interested on they way you Think - Capability
Just my 2 cents, Cheers....

At 2pm today got a call from Shell for my phone interview. The person on the other line introduced himself. Kind of a nice young fella. I assuming he is young based on his tone biggrin.gif first he explained about the flow of the interview. it will take about 45mins to finish the interview which is breakdown into 3 parts. In each and every part, there are several questions he will ask and he may interrupt you if he wants more explanation about the topic you will be discussing. At the end of the interview, there is gonna be a 10 mins QnA session, I am allowed to ask anything related to shell or about the job I’m applying. Due to some confidential issues, I am going to limit the information i am about to share after this.

First part – Achievement

He wanted me to explain about my greatest achievement in my life but not related to my study or any academic activity. He also wanted to know about the difficulties I’m having in fulfilling the achievement. Also, he wanted to know about my significant decision at that particular time.

Second part – Decision in conflict

He wanted to know about a group project I involved before this. In that project, there will be a conflict about decision making. He wanted to know how do you solve the conflict? What approach did you take in order to satisfy all people in that group?

Last part – case study

Imagine yourself as a decision maker of a one big corporation. There are 4 topics, choose one. The topics are;
1) Business competitor
2) Leadership development
3) CO2 emission
4) Environmental hazard

I choose number 2. He wanted to know about the activity to improve leadership development. How to improve it? Advantages and disadvantages of each decision you have to make.

I think that’s all I can share here guys. Hopefully somebody can gain benefit from it. Pardon me for my language since I am in hurry writing this :-)

cpl of weeks back, ranhill worley come to my campus for career fair. they won't entertain any cv which the cgpa is below than 3.8 and that is for engineering. I hope their paying scheme is great, i mean totally great.

rclxub.gif  How about those with 3.6 - 3.7? Being below 3.8 doesn't make someone a bad engineer, am i right.
*
yes. u are right bro. i don't know how much they pay fresh graduates with 3.8 cgpa. some company really concern about cgpa but some are not.

Hi all.. I got a call from petronas today, I got the offer for GEES, that 8 months training programme. Since I'm already in MMCOG, I don't think this is a better offer. Am I right?  hmm.gif Is there anyone here been through the scheme? I need to reply them today as the programme starts on 4th Jan.

AFAIK, GEES = GEMS (Graduate Employability Mgmt Schemes) .

So, GEES/GEMS does not related to AT/SI is it?

Whatever it is, engineering fresh grads, dont forget to register with BEM. smile.gif

to register with BEM, one need to have cert and transcript from Uni right? so does that mean, i need to wait until i convo? my Uni held convo once a year and that is only on November each yr.

my convo is in april. so to get my cert n transcript early, i need to special request from my uni. costs me AUD 40 sad.gif registering for BEM also will take a few months (NO IDEA WHY?! its not like im from some ulu uni) so that's a bummer. nonetheless my IEM friends advised me to just start collect PDP and later nego if valid or not, even though my application has not been accepted yet.
may i know if networking is really useful for fresh graduate engineers? i practically know nothing so i wont be useful to anyone haha
*
i'm sorry. what is PDP? this term is quite foreign for me
