Greeting from grease monkey.
Thanks for informative posts in this thread. I almost ditch an offer from NOC as inspection engineer and work in R&d +factory like environment. I think i made the right decision.

Does inspection related filed (onshore plants) promise good future? Anyone?

Not sure if i should post this here..is rm7500 contract as inspection enginner with 4 yrs of experience good enough.

Honestly, technical experience in manufacturing doesn't really help in securing the place. I'd say soft skills, project management skills, multi-tasking capabilities would be at least useful. I leveraged on those points and the rest is history.

Sound interesting.how old are you now?i have been offer for position in oil and gas but not sure if i should join, as it is a start over..

Keep trying.. I fail 2 baker hughes interview. One was in 2002 as technical assistant and another one in 2006 as field engineer. Back in 2002 it was not easy to find job in sarawak and i end up back to penisular for experiences. It takes me more than a year for respond on my application with the o&g operator..
