In term of work, you will expose to major work in Oil & Gas industry.. Such as MOPU construction, Shipbuilding, Topsite Module (on FPSO). Kencana has been our vendor for 2 projects and their performance is good..

I can see the Kencana Petroleum HQ everytime i go to Jalan Duta. Just opposite the new Istana Negara.

send out your resume as many as you can..Follow up with the company that you are interested in..And sometimes, people don't get what they want at the first time. But as fresh graduate, u should have a great attitude where the optimistic one is you really want to learn rather thn begging for a high salary, where you can't really contribute to company at the moment. Once the company send u out for training and so on, learn from seniors and have lightly 5 years experience, there u can demanding more. There are many fresh grads out there just looking for salary. Just an advise for freshmen, Learning and experiences are the most valuable thing in this life.

Good that you ask this questions. This shows you don't know and willing to learn. Rather than me spoon feeding you, you may treat this as a first assignment to learn more regarding the industry. Start with Google.

There are a lot of manpower agents in Malaysia. Google it and ye shall find it ... I can name a few (Uzma, Velosi, etc etc.)

I could not agree more with the post about experience. If you're a fresh grad, what you want to do is get your feet in the door. Don't worry so much about Salary and aim for the long term objective of getting as much experience as you can. Once your employer knows that you're someone who is willing to learn and work, then they will start giving you more work (don't complain). After 5 years, you will be marketable, after 7, you can even work overseas. After 10 years, you'll be golden. Those are the posts (as in milestones) that you want to aim for.

A degree in mchanical engineering and petroleum engineering is usually the ones hired for drilling department. BUT, most of the thing you will learn is at the workplace so sometimes as long as the employee sees that you're someone who is motivated to learn, they'll give you the proper training.

What I would say is pretend u've got the job and have worked for 2, 5 and 10 years. What is next, ask yourself? You can check similar jobs on the market that requires those 2, 5 and 10 years of experience.  It is something you will like to do as your career progress? What about average pay, are you satisfied? Opportunities wise, are they plentiful in the place where you wish to work, say Singapore?
