it is important only when one wanna join consultant for the accreditation direct admission into graduate member in malaysia. some consultants' job advertisement requests for registered with BEM/IEM Accreditation. pls take note with BEM registration one can go further with Washington Accord.

was 2nd batch ME same as u. opt mmu last time due the accreditation (Uniten not accredited, went to UTP interview [still new the campus that time, some comments from friend's elder sister] & some colleges in my consideration list were not accredited last time except public uni which due to quota, so never dream of that), 1st batch & our 2nd batch were interviewed by EAC interviewers during their assessment/evaluation last time in campus.

So in your opinion, whether it is an external cert or local one doesnt matter in enrolling into ong industry? I am aware of the accrediation... But from what my gf's father told me it doesnt matter in ong as you dont need to be an IR.

it does matter if as consultant especially at refinery (even petronas refinery own team got PE), pls read carefully what word i bolded previously. it depends on which stage from platform fabrication, e&p, refinery until the end products one is using. your gf's father is right if at operator/some contractors side (they will have NDT, API certification, follow ASME, ASTM, etc. specialist certification to inspect/cert at the various stage). it is about teamwork.

before enter into university for engineering course, there is a medical check-up. one of the test parameters is color blind. engineers shall not color blind.
big MNC companies medical check-up also got color blind check.
am not sure which units/dept suitable for color blind.

Hey guys..

I am a mechanical engineering student. And my strongest subjects are thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Other than that, I am good at analyzing data and I prefer indoor > outdoor job scope. So I am wondering what kind of position suits me the best. Please comment if u can. Thanks in advance. tongue.gif

refer to my previous reply again, Aug 12 2011, 01:15 PM

back to field recent weeks instead at office, able to show 1 MPT video, just click on the white button "Closed to play" at the video player:
MPT, UV light with wet fluorescent, sound muted due to conversation

Hi ch_teo,

Yea, still remember what u told me back then. Those are indeed some paths which I can go into, but lets say I wanna something that is not related to QC/QA, inspection and manufacturing.. what are other options I can have since I am good at those few subjects (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer) mentioned earlier, particularly in the O&G industry?

Don't have to spoon feed me, just give me some clues  tongue.gif

Benefit wise, KNM is not so good. My friend just joined a few months ago and now he's looking for a new job.

- Probably one of the few O&G companies which still uses clocking-in system.
- No health insurance. Medical treatment claim as per receipt and subjected to approval.
- Chinamen culture.

an ex-colleague was there. the receipts as she mentioned to me...
a secondary school friend from chemical engineering just left a few weeks ago after 5 years at there since fresh grad.

Hi there,

From what I know, there are a few ways to be a driller;
1. Start rig job from bottom (galleyhand-painter/roustabout-roughneck-derrickman-pumpman-AD-Driller)
Most of the old timer following this kind of route before become driller...

2. Some of the drilling companies have their Driller Trainee Program (such as Maersk Drilling).

3. I do know a guy that working for drilling company as Trainee Drilling Engineer and now he is a driller....
Cheers

Yeah, I noticed that. But his company wants to bond him for no reason (i.e. training or etc.). That's why I think RM5000-RM8000 is a fair enough. Well, RM5000 should be OK. tongue.gif
Well, if that is the case, you may want to consider moving to better opportunities. But unless you current companies can offer good working experience, then I would suggest you to stay a bit longer to gain the experience. Later on with the experience, more opportunities will come to you.

he only has the qualifications paper but not the experience...
the only way is jump to postings that related to his paper qualifications to build up the experience. i only can mention depends on the willingness of the new company to pay based on his qualifications & experience...
and my singaporean boss agreed with me some of the msia hse officer sweat.gif he could not find a competent one when doing interview to candidates even with greenbook registered... at last, he still needs to hire one but not up to his requirements for our malaysia 3 plants due to time urgency...
