also a new spice owner here... just bought it last saturday
price is 599

been a while surfin around this post, and finally decided to buy the cheapest android phone.

so, after one hour i opened the box, rooted it with z4root to remove those blueberry crap and fake facebook link, and all other crap.

last monday flashed my first rom... cm7 build 14, then another one... boston v4.1, follow with cm7 build 15, then boston v4...

but in the end still stick with spice's 2.1 crappy 480MHz rom... but there is a reason

with custom rom, i ecountered heap loads of problems, incl:
- "SD card removed unexpectedly", experienced this in ALL custom ROM...
- auto restart after i wake it up
- something wrong with the g-sensor
- random FC...

hopefully someone can help with the sd card problem.

i experienced that one too... but not for long.. after a while i try to touch again then it works...

just leave it like that, abt 1-2 minutes

i dunno whether its ok or not but im using class 2 too

i flashed several times already

will find a better one this weekend...

mayb all the sd card problem is due to me using class 2???

coz i'm ady used to clockworkmod recovery...

only used SUT for once, where i do the backup using clockwork, and after that realized that the recovery changed, and cannot recover using the clockwork recovery...

btw the one i flashed to firetrap... its actually not mine XD

tested this build...

verdict:
- no SD card problem anymore
- can't connect to WiFi...

so

rolling back to CSL's eclair

ok

downloading build 10 nw

it might be the sd card's problem, coz i still using the 4gb class 2 that comes with the mi300...

will go buy class 4 card this weekend...

so in the mean time looking for rom who will not reject my class 2 card

reinstalled it, office wifi can detect(cant connect, coz only the management have access to wifi)

later go home then try my home wifi again. hopefully it works this time.

flashed to cm6.1.2 stable with superbler kernel

so far so good

but yet havnt test the wifi at home, but it can detect already, unlike previous one, cant even detect signal...

...and still using the oem 4gb class 2 card.

not using superbler's rom...
using the cyanogenmod 6.1.2 stable version (2.2 Froyo) with superbler's kernel version 2.6.32.9
which means gone are the battery life problem of cm6.1.2_stable version

btw, tried superbler v4 and v4.1
gives me headache with the "sd card removed unexpectedly" problem...

Added on January 29, 2011, 2:08 amsaw the comments there say the processor is runnin 480MHz, just like our csl's eclair, cant change even with fastboot to 600Mhz .img
and the reason i flash my rom is to get 600MHz power, and leave from 480MHz...
so i think i'm gonna skip this one, until they made a custom one

and also can't root with z4root, but dunno others can o nt...

been using cm6.1.2 + superbler kernel for a while now
unstable wifi connection

will flash to cm7 #24 soon

and jz upgraded to class 4 microsdhc card two days ago

damn the csl give 4gb i think they generous... but no...they give the cheapest class 2 card... those without technical knowledge is still happy tho...
