QUOTE(ruffaz @ Sep 15 2015, 09:40 AM) im actually interested to work in big 4 as soon as i graduate.. i did heard that through internship, i couldnt learn much in big4 as compared to small/mid firm. i guess it is very true. If you want to work in a Big 4 after you graduate, you might as well apply for an internship at a Big 4 and do the best you can (& get a good feedback). Looks better on your CV than a small firm, although what's most important is definitely your marks.

QUOTE(HawkreiN @ Sep 21 2015, 07:57 AM) Yes, but its rare. You'd have to be quite exceptional. Thing is, many of the advisory/ consulting associates have prior work experience before joining, whether by hiring choice or just the general view that "you'd need x years of audit experience before applying". That's not actually true... Advisory does hire quite a lot of fresh grads for most lines. There r some which are more technical (like transactions advisory) may require previous audit knowledge but in general there is quite a lot of intake of fresh grads. But it tends to be mostly foreign grads from top universities.

QUOTE(HawkreiN @ Sep 21 2015, 07:21 PM) Apologies, agree with your statement. My reply was skewed towards consulting and possibly strategy roles too. A side observation though, at least from one of the Big 4 firms, new associates (entry level) often have some sort of prior experience. Fair enough I suppose it does vary across Big 4 and I can't speak for the other 3, only for the one I was at which always sees influx of new freshies. QUOTE(Gnas22 @ Sep 21 2015, 03:41 PM) I have been working in one of the Big 4 for only 1.5 year, and I am kind of lost now after some big and small peaks. While I am now clearing all my leaves, and really have time to think about my future again, I couldn’t imagine what audit might lead me to at the end of the day. Any buddy here kind enough to tell me what makes you to stay in the firm any longer, if not where would you venture into when you leave audit ? What is it that you don't like about audit? Is it the work or simply the hours? Do you see yourself eventually going into Finance and if so would you enjoy the work?

QUOTE(ThanatosSwiftfire @ Oct 5 2015, 02:35 PM) I was. Left ey as a manager... What did you leave to do, if you don't mind my asking? And was it in the same industry you were in while in audit?
