Anyone worked in PwC International Assignment Services-Personal Tax department before? How was the experience? Good? Is that advisable to join that department?
*
I was in that department about a couple of years back.

PwC IAS specialises in Malaysian personal tax compliance and consulting. They also doing outsourcing work with regards to personal tax compliance work for countries like Australia, Singapore and various others.

Majority of the staff are ladies. They are super hardworking - prolly coz of a tonne of peak periods + consulting work.

Whether it is advisable to join this department really that depends on what you want to do and achieve.

I left coz I wanted to venture into audit to get a wider exposure on everything - accounting, corporate tax, advisory etc.

Good luck in your decision~

Lot of things u learnt from that department? How long did u u stay for?
*
Yes, learnt quite a fair bit as I was given the opportunity to be exposed to all 3 items I mentioned earlier (normal compliance + advisory (consulting) and AU tax outsourcing).

Some of this knowledge helps out later when you become an auditor or when you join commercial, but only to a certain extend.

Stayed for almost 3 years.

Depending on the portfolio or type of work given, it is normal to do OT up to 10 pm and beyond + weekends. Not sure though if the situation has changed, but I highly doubt it.

Have you signed the offer letter already? When starting? Any opportunity to join other departments (e.g audit or corporate tax) or elsewhere?

Any idea on which area you will be assigned to - doing MY tax or outsourcing?

hey everyone.

After 3 years working in local big 4, im planning to try London big 4.

Is it nowadays that its easier to get in?
*
Should be easier if u have AM to M position.
Tougher if Senior post coz your experience and exposure could be from a different league and could be discounted versus UK/Euro countries.
I believe your current portfolio experience plays a role as well (e.g if u audit CIMB, then u go over to UK to apply for FS department).
