Well, the tax peak season is about 2 months compared to audit's 3-6months...I say that's not so bad. Or maybe I'm just too naive tongue.gif

Hey, I am going for the EY interview the next Monday for the job application of audit associate. Can anybody tell me what to prepare for the interview? (eg. what they usually ask during the interview? what do i need to bring along? who is the interviewer normally? can i negotiate the date when I am going to start the work?)

Besides, I have applied PWC online too, but there is no reply after one week. How long usually do i need to wait for the call?

Thanks.

Many of the questions regarding bout employment and application in Big4 can be boiled down to the basic economic concept: demand and supply.

How long it usually takes to reply your application?
Depends on their quantity demand of labourers, and depends on the quantity supply of labourers to them.

What's the criteria of being employed by Big4? CGPA 3.66 can ah?
Depends on the demand and supply. If they don't need any demand, why must they hire you? If there are plenty of people who are higher than you, why must they hire you?

Is CGPA 2.5 considered too low to join Big4?
Depends on their demand and supply. If they need any Tom, d*** & Harry who are willing to work, no problem. Timing must be right to see whether their demand meets your supply.

Are the interviewer's questions hard? How should I answer them?
It boils down to demand and supply. If they need people, no matter how hard the questions are, and no matter how lousy you answer is, so long your supply meets their demand, no problem. That's why HR doesn't really tell you how you performed during your interview or whatever just-for-show test.

I think everything boils down to "demand and supply". Don't bother what those HR said. They crap out of a reason just like how we write our analytical review.

Well said. So, stop asking and start applying. Asking won't land u a job, but applying does.

1. Prepare some common interview questions, google it. EY's interview is not hard, usually the People Team Manager will interview you(People Team = Human Resource), however, sometimes Assurance department manager will interview candidates as well.

2. Bring along what they asked you to be brought along.

3. Start date, not sure, usually is about 2 weeks after notification by them?

Got a question here, is it common for an engineering graduate to join Big 4?

Well, the other firms pay slightly higher for the same cr*p, so yeah, you feel a little better (just a tiny wee bit wink.gif ). Good luck in getting the job, the director must be too free!

its quite normal for new joiners to be interviewed by SMs/EDs, as long as u have carried yourself well....e.g. taking the effort to find out your director's name, starting off with a good morning/afternoon and ending with a thank you after the interview. these are little insignificant things but they help determine if u make the cut or not

not really, KPMG is paying much more well than PwC for a start...even at the SA2->SA1 ranking, so yeah. Impressions are such but realitywise can be very different. btw, the interview's most likely to be 1/2 hour, if your director is THAT BUSY till he/she cant spend 1/2 hour just for the firm/staff well-being, no point being a director, no? more to being LLB?
