With so many excellent responses, it was honestly very difficult for us to narrow down from hundreds of responses to just 12; but alas it had to be done.

Basically we feel that the gaming market is quite fragmented throughout the country. Those in the Klang Valley benefit the most with access to numerous retailers and contact with other gamers.

Those living else where, especially in the east are saddled with ridiculous prices, unscrupulous retailers / sellers and generally find a less than satisfactory gaming experience.

We're trying to see what can be done to address these issues and any other gamers might have and the best way to do that is to find out the issues that they're facing....hence the survey.

So the more that respond, the better the picture we'll get of the issues / environment and the easier it will be for us to address them.


So guys, please take 5 mins to fill out the survey and come early next year......we'll having something that's really designed by gamers for gamers

notice that PC was not listed as one of the platforms... I'm sure we got a lot of PC Gamers, could be even more that all the consoles combined.


Edit: if you guys start-up a nationwide efficient rental services, that would be awesome .

Actually, this was a conscious decision. Given the fact that you could pirate any game you want, we didn't think that there was really a market for PC gaming with the exception of MMORPGs and maybe SC2.

Also, to really keep up with PC gaming, you'll need a hefty budget for all those upgrades every 18 months or so.

Hence we decided to stick with the consoles.

But do tell me your thoughts as if you don't think its accurate, then we might include PC's in there as well

This is due to those games were best played on PC. do you see much hack n slash/JRPG released on PC? Those games are best played on consoles/gamepad.

As you mentioned there's is still a market for online multiplayer games, that has to count.

I have a PC(good enough to play the latest game) and a console, but I game more on the console, why? because PC games in Malaysia tends to spike a higher price point than their console counterpart. while normally in USA the RRP for PC game is $49.90 and console game is $59.90.

If a price point can be lowered, I'm sure we can attract a lot of converts, RM200 per game may turn off a lot of ppl. But you can imagine how many of them are willing to pay for a lower price? something in the range of the PS3 games we have now...

You're absolutely right. Then again, the cost of ownership of a console is much lower than that of a PC, so it is in fact much cheaper to be gaming on console.

That said, you do have a point regarding the price of these games. However, given the fact that PC games can still be pirated, even if you did managed to get 2nd original PC games at a much reduced price, most people will still pay the RM5 for the pirated version or even just download them.

It's only when you can't pirate the game does cost become the deciding factor, ala PS3. There are still those who prefer to play pirated 360 games cause its cheap.

So unless piracy is completely out the window, you won't get the required conversion as you'd expect.

Its a good oppurtunity to know what would a gamers in Malaysia wants.
I myself have a trouble for being a gamer in malaysia.
This could change it.

Sometime in Q1 2011....

Wow,nice plan you got here,if this takes off,it would certainly change the way that Malaysian gamers would play their games,I know some of my friends that hates to play online multiplayer just because of the severe internet connection we have at Malaysia. So,with this up and running,it would be easier for us Malaysian to play amongst ourselves and not experience any lag. Kudos for coming up with this idea,would certainly join this website!
