I have been offered both with the same price. Just wonder which one I should go for. The use of my tv is for

1. Watching blu-ray
2. Watching HD dramas
3. Playing Xbox-360 and PS3.

So the model that I have been offered

Toshiba Regza CV series 40CV700E - http://www.toshiba.com.my/product/product_...ductid=40CV700E

Samsung Series 5 LA40C530 - http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/televis...tail&returnurl=

from what i've observed, toshiba lcd tv produce more natural and soft colour picture quality;Samsung lcd tv produce more vivid and clear picture which is best for gaming/HD viewing.

If both are same price,i will go for Samsung-LA-40C530

Frankly, i'm not impressed with Samsung...the black is...just too black...lost too much details...black only...

I've been juggling a 2K budget between Toshiba 40AV700E/CV700E (they're similar) and a Sharp LC40L500M....i've been to Courts Mamooth, Best Denki and Jaya Jusco to check out all the models.

Actually. i really wanted to buy one of those Philips with HD Natural motion...but out of budget...sigh...the new Sharp Aquos LED with the 100Hz is also quiet good (the old model 100Hz does nothing...). Saw the Samsung 100Hz...no difference also. IMO, for best 100Hz TV, go for Philips HD Natural, or the new Sharp LED or SONY's 200Hz MotionFlow.

For sub 2K, between the 40AV700E/CV700E and Sharp LC40L500M....The Toshiba SD is too bright and loss a lot of color. HD wise, color are brighter than sharp but the details is not so good...Sharp overall looks better and smoother (like full-screen anti-aliased..haha), although not as bright. Coupled with some good comments from Sharp SC by some forumner here, and i am satisfied Sharp LCD user for 3 years...so i guess my choice is Sharp again...haha. The Sharp design also looks nicer and more advanced with roundish soothing edge. thumbup.gif
