Loose connection? I don't think so. The influence of Lovecraft were apparent in both Saya and Madoka, a successful formula. Though I'm not sure if he would follow the same rules for the ending, which, I quoted, 'momentarily glimpsing the horror of ultimate reality and the abyss'.

Actually yes... i rather draw a connection with Lovecraftian lore than with Saya No Uta since both of them are after all inspired by Lovecraft. But i won't do direct comparisons like Saya = QB, Fuminori = Madoka etc etc.
