that is how Apple managed to get their the Market capitalization exceed the Microsoft's Market capitalization. For me, Samsung Galaxy Tab is my choice for now as Ipad has no front camera. It can only use the micro sim card which can no where to be found and have to spend extra money to buy the sim cutter.
*
This reminds me of iPhone3 where people pointed out that it has no front camera and Apple fanboys said they don't need it. Then Steve presented iPhone4 with front camera and all the fans cheered. So you can expect the same now, fans will say they don't need front camera for the iPad, but when iPad2 is released with front camera, the fans will lovingly point out the feature as though it's something new.

Wrong. Tablets have it's use in various industry. For general tablets like ipad or galaxy tablet, it's just for personal use.

We are obviously talking about the consumer electronics industry from the end user point of view, regarding Mobile Phones and PDAs (it's what this sub-forum is called, what a surprise biggrin.gif).

If you want to nitpick and say that tablets have other applications in other industries for other purposes, of course. But why the hell would you want to drag this discussion off topic?

And besides, like Nukke mentioned, we are not trying to say that ipads (or tablets, relating to the consumer mobile phone and PDA industry) is useless. I'm just saying, there really aren't any compelling reasons to go out and get ipads, aside from the novelty factor.

I wonder while Apple so ignorance to include USB support. Plus it didn'r support flash.
If not, will be a complete gadget.

Ipad = to attract lady buyer cos apparently ladies more attracted to the looks & coolness of the device rather than spend time to think about it's actual function & usefullness

The other guy said "Tablets have it's use in various industry."

There's nothing wrong with his statement. In fact, it's perfectly true.

But it's so obvious we are here in this Sub-Forum called "Mobile Phones and PDAs", posting in a thread called "iPad", the discussion here is obviously in the context of consumer electronics, specifically tablets, targeted at end users.

Why would someone want to talk about the applications of tablets in other industries?

So yes, that would be going off topic.

Feel great after internet connection is back online.

@Clutch31
This is just a redundant thread (Plus TS was ranting on the Ipad. Discontent on why such innovations sets foot on consumer market). Subforum under Apple Byte would be the best section to discuss as Ipad was never a phone to begin with. Thus, it's off topic from the start. Besides, when I touch on industry, I'm implying examples of uses on tablets. For instance, have you came across your Bosses sending out Email via ipad while one the go? Yeah, it's a consumer item, but heck why not through blackberry? (Oh, too small to type), Why not a laptop (Not mobile enough, plus needs more load time and more batteries to sustain On the go while waiting for flights). tablets such as Ipad is just nice so said by him when casually asked. Not confined purely under entertainment purpose or home use.

End of the day, it's just a personal thing. You don't find any use on your daily life, you would call it a useless trash. If another person discovers the convenient of this innovation, he/she would be appreciated. We can go on babbling on the pros and cons, it will be endless loop of debate.

I will consider about that later. As for now, I have a convertible netbook. biggrin.gif

The lack of this feature seems to be irritating for some users since Ipad already does not have USB ports to transfer stuff around.

Right on the point. In the end, it's up to your own judgement towards that product.

Majority of the markets did not find this a "useless" item but rather a better and innovated product serve to boost their convenience in performing their daily task.

LOL. The only thing i remembered about ipad in the CSI NY is that 3 (if i am not mistaken) ipads are being damaged for the episode. But i think that might not be a genuine ipad as it seems tobe. Otherwise, ifags would really be upset about it as millions of people could hardly get their hands on ipad.

For me, it is necessary to transfer file like downloaded.exe files. But speaking about the performance, i was a little bit disappointed.
