Stupid me. I didn't know that I need to enable the tweaks in recovery mode until i read further down the tutorials.
Now I've updated to K10i with nolagfix. Runs silky smooth. Don't think i need to apply lagfix now. |

Before I try K10i I was using the stock south east asia stock rom 2.2
I've tried to disable HSDPA, turn off wifi and turn off data whenever I don't need to use internet. To my surprise my phone can last from friday night to tuesday night in 1 single charge (about 5 days). I was only using the phone to receive and make calls and use very lightly on facebook and twitter apps. Make some email sync twice a day. After I've flashed to K10i (all tweaks + no lagfix) I finds that my phone dropped nearly 1% in every hour in idle. Even when I have disable data and WIFI all together. I'm starting to wonder whether K10i really made anything to save battery. because when I was in stock rom my phone didn't drop 1% over night in idle (9 hours). The smoothness coming from all of those k10i tweaks doesn't seem to be that obvious to me. There's 1 draw back I can see which is everytime I restart my phone the media scanning takes longer than stock rom. Now K10i lasted 20 hours and it's still got 70% juice left. I'll further test drive it until I decide whether I should switch back to stock. BTW, I saw some of u guys say we can use our asian stock rom and only flash the JPU kernel. can anyone tell me how to do it? Thanks. |

QUOTE(Bugeca @ Dec 10 2010, 12:30 PM) I suggest you do not proceed with the intention to mix JPU kernel with other stock ROM other than JPU itself. I've done that and my external sd is not detected and MTP also did not work which means no Kies. If the previous is ok with you then you can proceed like normal kernel flashing. U need to search for the XXJPU kernel image thou. Thanks for the info.Perhaps it's better to stick with the stock rom or with the hardcore kernel applied. I don't think I'll ever use the doc rom which is lack of chinese support. |

I've updated to darky gingerbread JPU 5.2. It's silky smooth, best I've tried so far. No GPS issue. tested it on the road just now. it seems to lock on quicker than any rom I've tried before.

Hi guys.
I'm using darky 5.2 with JPU (and voodoo lagfix) (at the moment. everything seems fine with the phone at the moment. Even the GPS works faster than ever before. Shall I update to k10i as well? I haven't try it on this darky 5.2 JPU yet. not sure whether it brings any benefit to the phone with all of the tweaks that's came with k10i. Is that advisable to disable voodoo lagfix to save battery? How does it perform when the lagfix disabled? |

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Dec 13 2010, 01:14 PM) Did u do anythin wif ur GPS? default rite? Don try previous kernels on JPU. Darky uses Voodoo injected JPU kernel which is good enuf coz got CWM. disable voodoo, lagfix is unecessary it's all default GPS.Added on December 13, 2010, 1:15 pm lol... so many ppl trying Darky's rom. and I don k.. wow ur pic I was using papago. it acts a lot faster than before. and more accurate. however, when i was under the bridge or over the bridge it'd offset like usual. other than that i'm really happy with this. i use google chinese input IME. chinese input problem solved. |

QUOTE(ken2291 @ Dec 13 2010, 01:28 PM) how to get papago with mfm? just install papago then put the maps in Navisea folder? I follow a guide earlier. it was still here after i change firmware for a few times.not sure what is MFM though. i just got it all in a zip package downloaded from official website and unzip directly in to NAVISEA folder. btw, does disable lagfix in darky 5.2 JPU help to save battery? how to do disable it for darky rom? |
