My wireman has completed with his job and the good news, he is able to connect the electricity to to outside and also wiring to the existing (but broken) garden light. I had informed the electrician to waterproof the connection and i had bought a garden light and plan to do a japanese themed garden.

1- how should i put the light on a permanent structure? cement the whole base? or build a base and screw the light to the base?
2- the existing soil is in bad shape, i had removed few inches of it and plan to put some fresh soil on it, any idea?
3- there is some water retention on the garden, should i make a 'longkang' to channel the water out or let it seeps? FYI, the garden is not 100% flat, i mean i sloped a bit.

I dont know how to write but hope you guys/girls udnerstand. need some idea......thanks...photos would be great.

perhaps you should take a photo of the garden you are trying to do all the things you mention. Then can give advice.

actually there is nothing much as it was quite dirty now. the wireman fixed it at the centre of the gardern without asking me....duh. fyi, the 'constructions' are still ongoing, so......consider the garden as a barren land with garden light.........
