sauron: Nice! Which colour you got? White or red? I'm thinking of getting one as well. Lol. What do you think of the model?

kent: both are actually very good. both have their own pros and cons i.e 458 with oversized rims and ugly exhaust while the Scud is not as heavy but the interior is stunning. I would definitely get the Scud first tho since it's not easy to find one nowadays.

and even the size of front part of the 458 is too big if compare with the real 458 scale, saw it from Utube. sad.gif but me myself is prefer 458 model. F430 besides not heavy, no other cons already?

Toy City? toy city sell their die-cast at a price much higher compare to online-buying. tongue.gif
some even are display unit at cabinet, so the condition may not be good.

Yeah..I think it's Toy City..not sure the GT-R is Autoart or Kyosho because that I just 'wow' at the car..but I've seen some autoart cars there.

White. The model is quite good (off course cannot compare with that Black Opal sweat.gif ). Since I bought it almost 50% less than the current 1:18 Bburago price, it's a real bargain for me. biggrin.gif

Hi guys,

Do you guys mind to share where to look for die cast car model with scale 1:18 in Klang Valley area? I'm more interested with Kyosho and Autoart now. Already owned couple of 1:18 models from Maisto, Hotwheel, Kyosho..etc.

Thanks

If you're serious into collecting JGTC cars, I suggest better collect 1/43 scale. Look for Japanese manufacturer Ebbro. Excellent qualilty for not so much price. smile.gif

Kyosho used to make one or two in the olden days. But now it seems that only Autoart is making them in 1/18.

For me, I polish to take out marks on the paint. I try to avoid the emblems, decals and fragile plastics or the plastic bumper.

From what I know, the paint on newer Autoart models does not come out. The same goes for Minichamps. The older ones do. Funny though that I just took out the Hotwheels Elite 458 Italia and gave it some wiping but the colour comes out when polished though. rolleyes.gif

Yeah, the Elite Scuderia is quite nice. I know the Super Elite Scuderia is nice. rclxms.gif I agree that they are hard to come by but so is the 458 as well.

Anyway, I got curious last night / early this morning and took the 458 out of the box. Finally. biggrin.gif This was one of the boxes that came before Christmas. Box is a little damaged (as usual rolleyes.gif ) but the model was fine. Got the camera out and took some shots.

I don't have the Elite 599 GTO or the 599XX yet but seeing the pics, I'll most probably get it too. It's also been a long time since I bought an Elite and from the last I remembered, the quality of the 458 has increased tremendously compared to the older Elites.

Yeah the 458 model is quite chunky in size and weight compared to the Scuderia. But then again in real life, the Scuderia has a weight of 1250kg vs 458 Italia's 1380kg. So in this case, indeed it makes sense that the 1/18 Scuderia is also lightweight. biggrin.gif

Paintwork on mine is almost perfect. No obvious scratches. The only down side on my sample is the rear left tyre slightly more out than the right side and the Ferrari decal on the engine cover is slightly off centred.

If the scratch is light, try and buff it out by polishing it. I think it's quite easy to do since the paint easily comes off.
